Land. This sequel to the 1953 classic Peter Pan has a reassuringly old-fashioned feel, with computer-generated images and more-traditional artwork cleverly blended to recall the original. Wendy, now married with children, is living in a London ravaged by the blitz. Every night she enchants her small son with tales of pirates and Pan to distract him from the bombings but her serious young daughter Jane finds the stories of magic and fairies unconvincing in the face of a war-torn reality. After a fairly slow beginning establishing the bleak backdrop and the various characters--Jane's smug conscientiousness grates at times--the scene is set for the adventure to begin; and once the nefarious Hook and crew loom into sight, things really take off--literally. In Never Land nothing much has changed: the dastardly Captain Hook, now tormented by a clicking octopus rather than a ticking crocodile, just wants to be hated; his crew remain bloodthirsty but bumbling; and feisty fairy Tinker Bell shimmers around in a jealous strop when another female appears on the scene. Unfortunately, the story line hasn't changed much either, being a thin re-working of the original, although there is an interesting mirroring between mother and daughter--one who was afraid to grow-up and the other distrustful of childhood, with its emphasis on fun and lack of responsibility. It was never going to be easy to follow the original Peter Pan but Return to Never Land is an engaging sequel and the uplifting "So To Be One of Us" is Disney music at its best. DVD Description
In this sequel to the 1953 Disney classic PETER PAN, Wendy is all grown up, with children of her own. She lives in London, which, as the film starts, is in the midst of the devastating German bombardments of World War II. The hardships of war have made Wendy's daughter Jane a practical, level-headed girl, with little time for her mother's wild stories of Peter Pan and Neverland. Jane doesn't believe in fairies and fantasy lands. That is, not until Captain Hook swoops down in his computer-animated pirate ship to kidnap her and whisk her away through a spectacular space portal into Neverland. Captain Hook wants Jane as bait to finally catch Peter Pan. The crocodile which plagued Hook in the original film has been replaced by a giant orange octopus. Jane just wants to get back home to London, and decides to help Hook find hidden treasure since he promises to take her home. But in order to finally make it home, Jane must learn to believe in faith, trust, and pixie dust. This sequel primarily uses traditional animation, in the same style as the original film, although some modern computer animation is also used. Fans of the classic PETER PAN will enjoy visiting Neverland again.

Advantages: fun for kids Disadvantages: boring for adults
...Although Wendy is now grown up with a husband and two kids of her own, Jane and Danny, she never stopped believing in PeterPan.
Set the scene. War torn England. Wendy’s husband is sent off to fight in the war, and the evacuation notice has arrived for Jane and Danny to be taken to the country.
But wait…….
Jane, a disbeliever of PeterPan is kidnapped by Captain Hook (you knew that was coming didn’t you), and taken to NeverLand.
To return home to her family she must believe in the magic and learn to fly. Can she do it?
Along the way, Captain Hook makes a bargain with her to get his lost treasure back, offering Jane a passage home on his ship if she helps him.
What shall she do?
That’s enough of the storyline, as I don’t want to spoil it for all you big kids out there.
My...

Advantages: Entertaining Disadvantages: Not for everyone, not as good as the first (obviously)
...'Return to Neverland' is Disney's sequel to 'PeterPan'. Being the massive Disney fan I am, I don't usually say a word against any of the films that they produce...BUT...recently, Disney have been releasing lots of sequels to their real classics. For example, 'Lady and the Tramp 2', 'The Little Mermaid 2' and 'Cinderella 2', all of which have gone straight to video. The sequels are, I hate to say it, pretty bad. The animation isn't as slick, the characters aren't as exciting, new and magical and the stories are no where near as good as the originals.
'Return to Neverland' made it to the cinema, although it didn't have the usual Disney hype build up, except a couple of McDonald's TV promotions. Obviously, I had to go and see this film...it didn't have alot of showing times at my local cinema so I ended up going at about 4...
