I got this DVD for Christmas 2003. It wasn’t the original present, but that went straight back after one watch...well...I didn’t even get half way through it. A word of advice to anyone. If you want a comedy DVD or video, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THE JOHNNY VEGAS DVD "ANYONE FOR ICE CREAM"!! I cannot stress this enough! It was the worse thing that I have ever seen! I love Johnny Vegas on shooting stars, but this was just crap!

But anyway, back to Mr. Kay.

I hadn’t seen the previous DVD by Peter, so I didn’t really know what to expect with this one. I had seen bits of the Phoenix Nights and loved the John Smiths adverts. Every time that I see them, I laugh, no matter how many times you’ve seen them before, they’re just funny.

The DVD opens and closes with probably the worst parts, which is convenient, so then there are no letdowns in the main part! He gets picked up and dropped off by a taxi, which causes him all kinds of problems, due to the fact that he has the worst driver in the world, Mr. Bee!
Once he gets there, he says hello to his mum and gran, who are in the audience. As the camera pans across the audience it stops on Craig Cash, who played 'Dave' on the BBC TV program 'The Royle Family'. The only fault that I can think of for Peter is that he only seems to have one voice for when he does his impressions. All of which are of Jim Bowen from 'Bullseye'! It’s a very good impression mind you, but after a while, it starts to get a bit repetitive!

For such a popular comedian, the lack of swearing, or crudeness, in his act is quite unusual. If you were to compare him to another comedian who has an impact like he does in this DVD, it would have to be the legend that is Billy Connolly. The only difference between the two, apart from the obvious accents and hair (facial or otherwise) is the way in which they deliver their acts. Billy, who swears regularly and is full of rude jokes, and Peter who just uses funny things. Im not saying that he is totally clean, but its not like every other word is f*ck or related to any aspect of sex. If you do acquire this, watch out for the look on his gran's face when he does either of these things, it's just priceless! She is trying to look shocked, but is so blatantly wetting herself inside!

All in all, this is a very good comedy performance by one of my favorite comedians. People who just want an easy to watch comedy DVD should defiantly buy this. The flaws in it are little to none, and the ones that I have mentioned are probably just a personal thing. If you’re from Bolton, Wigan, Preston or anywhere around there (like I am), it is a must have.
