Advantages: The Spirit Of Christmas Disadvantages: Slightly dated
...This film brings back so many happy memories of a childhood christmas. It is slightly dated, but still sucks you in and you almost end up believing in the big man in red! Even DudleyMoore is quite likeable!
This may only be watched once a year, but well worth the money, for the happiness it'll bring to adults and children alike.
Santa is played by David Huddleston, he is the best looking Santa I ever saw, with support from DudleyMoore as an elf, and the wonderful John Lithgow as a baddy.
On the DVD there is a making of documentary which is about 50 minutes long and great,
For best results, snuggle under duvet on the sofa on Christmas Eve, with a big mug of hot chocolate and pretend you're 5 all over again, if you have children, watch their faces light up. A great film for all the family...

Advantages: The cream of British comedy, value for money, Disadvantages: Poor sound and video quality
...In 1975, John Clese was offered to "get a few friends together" and make a comedy benefit in support for Amnesty International. The result was a resounding success, and five other shows were made between 1977 and 1989. In 1991 a special benifit was made to commemorate Amnesty International's 30th Anniversary. All seven of these shows are here over four DVDs.
John Clese seems to have done well in his circle of friends. Anyone who is anyone in British comedy at the time is here, including the Monty Python team, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Alan Bennet, PeterCook and DudleyMoore, Jonathan Miller, Barry Humphries, Eleanor Bron, the Goodies, Sir Peter Ustinov, Clive James, French and Saunders, and Kathy Burke.
Old favourite sketches are performed here, such as Monty Python's Lumberjack and PeterCook's Interesting Facts...

Advantages: Bo Derek, Dudley Moore and Julie Andrews...need I say more? Disadvantages: Strictly for adults only
...of sentimentality…and with the introduction of Bo Derek, it made quite an impression. Granted, the film does have its detractors, saying it that is uneven and glib, though I don’t agree with all that because of its universal theme, which is we all dream of the temptress---or the Adonis, if you are a female, lol.

Many people love DudleyMoore, including me; of course, he may be best remembered as being PeterCook’s sidekick for many years (i.e. BEDAZZLED), though many people forget that he starred in a string of fine films, always delighting audiences. There was ARTHUR, where he played a drunk millionaire, as well as MICKI & MAUDE, where he got two women pregnant and eventually marries both...
