Peep Show is a truly modern comedy, it follows a format that has not been seen before and that by itself makes it a revolution.
The plot is that two former university friends are living in a flat together. Doesn't sound too inthralling at first and to make it slightly worse, they are a bit of an odd couple. Mark (David Mitchell) is an uptight, office worker, he has a true love for history and is consumed by a love for someone he works with. Jeremy (Robert Webb) is a free-spirited musician that can't make any decent music. His outlook on life really adds to the show, he has an attitude that amounts to if it feels good do it. By the sound of that it doesn't appear to be to ground-breaking. The strength comes from the development of the characters who are well thought out and compliment each other well.
The scripts are fantastic and are consistently funny and there are plenty of one-liners to enjoy. The best parts come from hearing the inner thoughts of the characters and how what they say often differs to what they are thinking. It makes it more realistic, lets face it, we all say things that we don't mean! The camera is often from the point of view of each character which adds to its sheer uniqueness.
The cast are brilliant and really add to the overall effect, Superhans is Jeremy's best friend and believes himself to be a musical visionary as well as a philosopher which he clearly isn't. Sophie is Mark's love interest, seeing the way that Mark reacts to her is always brilliant as he does not have a clue.
Most of the storylines are great except for the odd few which are slightly weaker but are not bad by any stretch of the imagination. One involves Jez going on jury duty and then starts dating the accused. One of the favourites is the over-use of sectioning and trying to get everyone sectioned.
Compared to other comedies out there this is one of the most original. Sam Bain's and Jesse Armstrong's scripts are fantastic and hopefully we will see more of Peep Show in the future. I would seriously recommend this if you are not affraid to try out new comedy.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

Quite a good review , but I think that it needs a lot more information and detail to justify a higher rating. It helps if you write every product Review as if you’re writing for someone who has virtually no knowledge of what you’re reviewing, in clear non technical language. You might find it helpful if you read and rate some other peoples’ reviews (especially those that have been rated VH or E). It might give you an idea of the sort of things you need to include. It might also be helpful if you had a look at the Ciao guides to writing Reviews and Rating I found them really useful. If I can be of any help feel free to put a note in my gb. Rich
