OVERALL
On the whole, both disks of the 'Paul McCartney - Back In The World' Live CD, provide some fascinating and moving performances from a man who has been in the forefront of the public spotlight his entire life. There is no denying that the man knows exactly how to write amazing pop songs, whether it is a solo effort, with his now Late Wife, Linda, or with the most talked about band in history and the most awe inspiring song writing duo to ever grace the planet.
I can't deny that there are some drawbacks to this double disk set. Some of the songs could have been sung better but, because of the live atmosphere, it's easy to let this slide. The only one where it is perhaps ...

Many of you will probably remember Paul Weller from his time with The Jam or The Style Council, or more recently his solo career, including the platinum selling Stanley Road album.
And if you've never heard of him before, he's a singer who also plays a range of guitars, as well as keyboards and pianos etc. He also inspired groups like Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene. In fact, Noel Gallagher has before now appeared guesting with Paul Weller on Jools Holland.
Anyway, enough of an intro to WHO Paul Weller is, the next real point to make is that however good he may be on promo videos or on CD, there is NOTHING to beat seeing him LIVE. And whilst this DVD can't take you back three years to see the concert live in Glasgow, it does the next best thing.

I was one of those lucky few who was there on the day. The day that music changed the world something that has continued ever since but has never been achieved up to this standard. I have been to many many live gigs but this one comes right at the top, I can still remember the shivers down my spine as I felt the excitement from crowds and performers alike so, when the concert was released on DVD I decided to purchase it. All proceeds from this dvd goes to the Band Aid trust to continue their help in feeding the world.

The brother and sister comedy creation--Paul and Pauline Calf--is one of Coogan's finest and funniest. This DVD features the performance recorded to help launch BBC3. The glamorous Pauline is sporting a new hairdo, has been pierced belly-wise and has a new tattoo in Chinese (though apparently they spelt it wrong). She enthralls the audience with a highlight from 'Floss - The Story of Florence Nightingale.' Paul, meanwhile, the fag-smoking lager-lout has been taking advantage of their Mum's motorised mobility chair and getting a new girlfriend. Don't know which came first.
