Advantages: exciting Disadvantages: avalanche is rubbish
...Vertical limit, seem familiar? This Blockbuster Movie made top of the charts and i personaly rate it as one of the best, with a healthy mix of snow, avalanches, heros and ethnic rivalry, even manageing to incorperate Pakastan Army. The basic story? Woman gets stuck in an avalanche, four men die to save her. This epic story combines an interesting mix of sacrafice and commitement. But didnt the AVALANCHE seem a bit old? Thats because it, not surprisingly was a bit old, the fotage was from an ancient avalanche film, or so the rumers go. Vertical limit was surrposed to be paying tribute to it, by (alledgedly) using footag from it. If you have seen it, or are going to, look carefully when the main avalanche comes. The wind is blowing, the bilzard is thick, and then, what the hell is that surrposed to be? It resembles a sugar lump trying...

Advantages: Action movie that gives a certain innovation touch to the typical rescue movies in the snow. Disadvantages: They have wanted to make it so spectacular that it is an unreal point, for not saying incredible.
...I went when seeing it because they wanted to see it my friends and I didn't leave as unhappy of the cinema as it thought.
In principle to say that the history doesn't give stops much more than the customary thing, because in a movie on rescues in the snow can wait for you avalanches, dangers, some that another movie bad, the heroes that go to the rescue, those that suffer from the camp base... in short that if not because it would not be a rescue movie in the snow.
But inside the customary thing they introduce some variants. For example this time is the own brother of one of the victims of an avalanche the one that will attempt the rescue next to a group of peculiar characters, so we forget the loving part of the film in the one that both frozen they are promised eternal love or sew for the style because it doesn't exist in the movie...

Advantages: edge of your seat action Disadvantages: film to short
...this film must be one of the under rated films of last year.
An edge of your seat action film, Vertical limit is the high-adrenaline tale of a young climber, who must launch a extraordinary rescue up K2, the world's second highest peak. to save the life of his sister.
the filming took place in the mountain ranges of Mt. Cook and Queenstown in New Zealand. which duplicates the himalayas, it's one of the few places in the world where you get peak uopn peak like the area around K2
The special effects are some of the best that I have seen. the computer generated avalanche was combined with parts of a real filmed avalanche, can you tell which is which.
Special Features on DVD:
Director and producer's commentary, weblink, filmographies, theatrical trailer plus a few more.
If you have not seen it, give it a try it was a most enjoyable...
