The start of the film sees the wedding of Kate and Henry who are madly in love but tragedy strikes when Kate gets crushed by an angel ice sculpture and dies. We see Kate being talked to by an Angel but as she is too busty arguing with her that she is not an Angel as she doesn’t have wings she does not hear what she has to do in order to pass over to heaven.
We then move to a year later when Henry is still depressed over Kate’s death and his sister takes charge of him and suggests that he goes to see a medium so he can finally get closure and move on. They go to see Ashley and she is unable to help at first but after a visit from Henry’s sister she is persuaded to read Kate’s old diary and convince Henry that Kate wants him to move on with his life.
Ashley finally manages to see Henry again and they start to get close but Ashley soon gets an unwanted visitor in the form of Kate who is a ghost. Ashley is falling for Henry and Kate is not happy about this and thinks she is still around to stop Henry from dating her and falling in love again. Kate starts to make Ashley’s life hell and is constantly tormenting her and making her look crazy in front of Henry.
Will Kate actually realise why she is still around and do the right thing and will Henry and Ashley finally both be able to move on and become an item?
I have to say that I found this film to be very average. The storyline was quite good and just not at all believable but as there was a lot of humour in the film then this can be forgiven. Hubby says that he found it to be a modern day take on the old film ‘Ghost’. I do agree that there are some similarities but I could clearly seer that this is not what they intended to do.
The characters were all good and I did like them all and found they all worked well together. Eva Longoria Parker took the role of Kate and did a good job of playing an irritating ghost and Paul Rudd played the role of Henry very well and I have to say he is very cute! I found that all of the supporting actors and actresses did a good job in their characters and added a little much needed depth to the story. I especially enjoyed the role of Ashley’s gay friend and thought he bought some good fun parts to the film.
The film was set in modern day America so all of the settings and costumes were all good and looked very authentic. I found that the effects which were used during the film were all good and looked very authentic and were not noticeably added by computer.
I was quite surprised by some of the humour in the film and thought it did make the film so much better and at times it did make both me and hubby laugh out loud, but these moments were few and far between!
The music in the film was not memorable but I do remember thinking that it was all appropriate and suitable for the parts in which it was used but I think I would have liked a much stringer soundtrack to make the film slightly better.
The DVD which I have does have one bonus feature which is a trailer but I did not take the time to watch this.
The running time on this film is 90 minutes which I found to be just long enough as it would have started to drag if they would have made the story any longer. The certificate on the film is a 12 which I do agree with as there are some moderate sex scenes and some bad language but nothing which I found offensive and I have to say both me and hubby found the sex scene very funny indeed.
I paid just under £5 for this DVD from Amazon which I am glad about as I don’t think that it is worth much more. I am going to recommend this film as long as you are not expecting too much as I have to say the best bits were shown in the trailers for this film and it does not make much brain power to watch which is always a bonus for me!
Advantages: Paul Rudd was great Disadvantages: Longoria Parker, looked a bit cheap, gags were unfunny, disappointing
...this is very quickly skipped over and now dwelled on at all, even by her fiance who seems to actually make a joke of it. Even the relationship between Henry and Ashley seemed void of any real passion or emotion, and sort of appeared out of nowhere. Because of this, character devlopment in the film was incredibly limited and left us with one-dimensional characters who I ended up not caring about. They really missed a trick here, and this is really ... ...it was very poor, with obvious jokes throughout not really working, even resorting to crude 'fart' jokes (the bane of my existence) and childish humour which just was so unfunny, it was ridiculous.
For a film that could have been quite fresh and entertaining, I found myself pleased when the end credits rolled and not at all satisfied with what I had just seen. I didn't laugh that much, Longoria Parker was very poor in her role and this is certainly ...

...$10 million and they made over $20 million. It was rated as a 12, this is just because of a few sexual references, which is bound to happen in all chick flicks, so nothing unusual there. It was probably worth the £5.00 it cost to get into the cinema as it was a night out, and watchable, but I wouldn’t buy the DVD. It has a rather forgettable soundtrack, I can’t name one song from it, and this is rather unusual for chick flicks as they normally have ...

OverHerDeadBody is a comedy film starring Eva Longoria Parker (from Desperate Housewives) as Kate and Paul Rudd (Phoebe's husband from Friends) as Henry her fiancé.
The film starts on the day of Kate and Henrys wedding and Kate is fussing over the preparations, not happy with anything and becomes really annoyed because the giant ice sculpture of an angel she has commissioned has no wings. She demands the man takes it away but as he is reversing the ice angel tips over and hits Kate. Kate suddenly finds that she is now an angel (with no wings!) and must complete a mission to move on, however in Kate's usual fashion she is too busy complaining to listen to what she is supposed to be doing.
Meanwhile Henry is struggling to come to terms with Kate's death so his sister Chloe takes him to see a Psychic called Ashley to try to get ...
***Film Only Review***
Overherdeadbody is another romantic comedy that doesn't quite deliver I'm afraid. Its a simple story where in Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) is accidentally killed on her wedding day and thinks she is still around to save her fiance; Henry (Paul Judd) from getting involved with Ashley (Lake Bell) when really she is just stopping him moving on and being happy.
There are a few key reasons why this film isn't quite as good as it could have been. The main one being the casting. Lake Bell who plays the open minded psychic Ashley had the only performance that leaves any impression. Paul Judd who appears to be the same character in everything he does recently, is a little wooden and I found it really hard to get involved with his character and to attach any emotion to his situation. He should have been lovable ...
I have seen a lot of films out that I want to see, some with good reviews and some with bad reviews. One of the films I had heard about was the film 'OverHerDeadBody' with Eva Longoria in it. They mentioned her name to sell the film but she isn't really that big a part in the film but I suppose one of the bigger names. I wasn't too sure about seeing this film as it did look a bit stupid and I don't think much of Eva Longoria as an actress but then I thought it might be funny as it did get quite mixed reviews and looked ok from the adverts. I decided I would take the risk and go to see it anyway since I had some free time.
The film begins with us seeing lots of wedding things which is obviously Kate Eva Longoria Parker) starting to plan out the wedding and pick out things. The film does begin on a silly start though as Kate sees ...
