Oscar Peterson - Easter Suite (DVD)

A Little Jazz Music

Advantages: Fantastic album, range of pieces
Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit expensive for a 30 year old album

I only got into jazz very recently myself and I thought I'd use the platform of ciao to try and persuade others who may not have listened to it before to give it a go too. The CD I'm reviewing was chosen by me purely on the basis on the fact that I vaguely knew the name of the pianist from other jazz articles I'd read and the fact that I love jazz music where the piano is the main solo instrument. The CD Oscar Peterson's 'Tracks' is not a new release. In fact it was originally released in 1971. The actual CD I'm reviewing has been digitally remastered and the tracks in no way sound dated; either in quality or in musical style. But this is something I will come on to in more detail later on in this review? I have to say the cover to this CD seems uninspiring. Simply showing a side profile of a face (perhaps Peterson ...

Review of Tracks [Remastered] - Oscar Peterson

Easter

Advantages: Well presented, brighly illustrated, full of ideas.
Disadvantages: Nothing you can't get on the internet!

ΔΔΔ Introduction ΔΔΔ I have quite a few Usborne Activities books relating to things to 'make and do' and 'how to draw' but this is the only cooking based one that I have invested in so far! ΔΔΔ The book ΔΔΔ At the beginning of the book as you would expect there is a Contents page which is very easy to use, heading and page! There are 14 items to bake or cook, which I have listed below: ~Chirpy chick cakes ~ Flower sweets ~ Sticky Easter cakes ~ Sunshine toast ~ Easter truffles ~ Marzipan animals and eggs ~ Easter fudge ~ Coloured eggs ~ Easter cake ~ Chocolate nests ~ Easter fruit breat ~ Spiced Easter biscuits ~ Easter daisy biscuits ~ Cheesy chicks The final two activities are: ~ Wrapping ideas ~ Easter tags ΔΔΔ Style ...

Oscar Wilde's obsession with books

Advantages: Full of fascinating information about Wilde's life and love of books
Disadvantages: None really, except maybe best enjoyed by those with some prior knowledge of Wilde
