in 1981 when mobile phones were the size of bricks and wine bars were the ultimate places to hang out in. The formula was simple enough: Cockney wideboy Derek Trotter (brilliantly played by David Jason) dreams of better things for himself while sharing a cramped council flat in the nicely named Peckham tower block Nelson Mandela House with his unworldly brother Rodney and his sweet but doddery old granddad. Trouble is, Del's endless money-making schemes (such as his attempt to flog a consignment of one-legged turkeys, or his plan to sell bottled tap water) inevitably backfire, like the knackered old Robin Reliant van he uses to cart around all this faulty gear. Created by John Sullivan, who also sings the very catchy theme tune, Only Fools and Horses is a wonderful mix of dodgy but loveable characters (such as Del Boy's dimwit friend Trigger), knockabout slapstick (no-one falls down with as much comedic grace as Jason) and brilliantly crafted dialogue. Sadly, Leonard Pierce who played Granddad died in 1983; but his armchair in the Trotter household was filled in 1985 by Buster Merryfield as Uncle Albert (an old merchant seaman who bores Del and Rodney with tales of his war days). The show ran to seven series and ended with characteristic warmth in 1991, when Del Boy became a father; but the Trotters made occasional returns to the small screens with six hugely popular one-off Christmas specials. As Del Boy himself might say: "Lovely jubbly". --Edward Lawrenson

Advantages: classic comedy Disadvantages: none
Only fools and horses is the best British comedy ever made in my opinion. Based in the south London areas of Deptford and Peckham it follows the lives of Del Boy and Rodney Trotter, two wheeler dealer type businessmen who run their business trotters independent traders from the back of their three wheeled reliant robin van. The pair are always shifting dodgy goods and will do almost anything to earn a few quid. The show concentrates mainly on these ... ...this DVD set. Everyone loves only fools and horses so it would make a great birthday or Christmas present for somebody. Below I have listed all 64 episodes and my favourite ones have a star sign next to them; there really are some great episodes.

- Go West Young Man
- Cash and Curry

Best buy for great laughs Review ofOnly Fools And Horses - The Complete Series 1 To 7 (Box Set)by

Advantages: All come in one box Disadvantages: Not all the specials are included
Only Fools and Horses is an absolute legendary tv series and was one of the only great British comedies in the past few years.
The partnership between Del and Rodney is heartwarming and you can not help but roll over in stitches at their comedy capers!
Even though I have seen all the episodes when I purchased the box set and watched them all again I found that there was so much I missed - you definitely need to watch them all more than twice!
... ...move from your tv - only to keep topping up the refreshments.
You can never get bored of watching these timeless classic episodes of the best comedy series ever!
Trigger is my favourite character as who could honestly still have the same sweeping brush after numerous handle and head changes? Noone else could get away with being so dumb but Trigger.
Del is a great main character with his dodgy dealings down Peckham market and his side kick brother ...

Advantages: Best comedy ever!!!! Disadvantages: Not many extras, but hey, what more could you possibly want
THE best comedy series ever created is my honest opinion. There are very few actual laugh out loud comedy programmes however all seven series of this fabulous box set are incredibly funny. The family consists of Delboy (the ultimate cockney geezer), his brother Rodney (the ultimate dipstick), and either grandad in earlier series or uncle Albert in later series, and of course their friends including Trigger and Boycie. As far as british comedy goes, ... ...from the moment you begin watching you will fall in love with the loveable rogues and follow their journey through the years as they try absolutely every scam in the book to make a fast buck. You could also watch these episodes over and over again which suggests how good this is. The box set is a must have for any fan out there. ...

Advantages: Great value, replay value, consistent laughs Disadvantages: Early series wasn't as good, no extras
Only Fools and Horses is well known for it's instantly reckognizable characters. The series kicked off in the early 80's and finished a decade later. These seven series feature some of the greatest comedy in British history. Series 3 and 6 are particularly memorable. At £59, you really can't go wrong with this. There's so many laughs and you'll find yourself coming back to each DVD over and over again. The first series was mediocre at best, but the ... ...put together for such a longetive and popular series? It's a little disappointing that the only extra material available is released on it's own seperate DVD, puttakes and deleted scenes would have been the icing on the cake. Still, a fantastic buy and you can't really go wrong. ...
