After recently buying only fools and horses: If they could see us now, I thought I should review it. This episode was the first of a three part series that was shown over the Christmas periods of 2002, 2003 and 2004.In if they could see us now we see the trotters for the first time in more than five years and boy you can tell that time has passed by just looking at the characters.Del boy and boycie (David Jason and John Challis) both look like old folks home fodder and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) isn't looking to perky either.
Anyway ageing characters aside the trotters still put up an outstanding performance as so do the other supporting characters.
Onto the episode itself, the episode starts with Del and Rodney living the high life in Monte Carlo and Damien (del`s son) peeing in luxury off the 4 m diving board.
However all this comes to an abrupt end when the Central American stock market crashes leaving the trotters penniless unable to pay there hotel bill, but due to del`s creative mind they come up with a solution to there little dilemma, they do a runner.

Later in the eppisode del and co. and ordered to pay a sum of nearly £50,000 to the Inland Revenue ,but once again dels creative imagination comes to use again and he applies to go on a new quiz show hosted by Jonathon Ross called the Gold Rush.

While Del, Raquel and Damien go off to the show Rodney has other ideas and plans a romantic night in with cassandra dressing up as each others fantasies(buy the DVD just for this bit - very very funny)

Back at the gold rush del is struggling , but on the £50,000 question so uses "his phone a friend" to get help from rodders,rodney answers wrong and of course del is not to pleased and storms out of the studio kicking his podiom over on his way.

Im not going to say any more on the storyline as that would give to much away , you will have to rent / buy the DVD to find out what happens next.

To be honest i really really enjoyed watching this when it came out and really enjoyed watching it when i bought it. Allthough the characters have aged and sadly some are no longer with us the show still dellivers everything a good comedy should include.
The trotters even after living five years of the high life still have the dog eat dog gene indside them something i am glad john sullivan(O.F.A.H writer) has left in because to be honest you can only watch someone being rich and enjoying themselves for so long.A show like only fools needs a chase factor in it ,it was in it in 1981 and it`s still in it now .

Thats all i have to say for now enjoy the DVD if you buy it , im sure you will.
