This episode is the first part of the 1996 Xmas special. It was originally broadcast on 25/12/1996.
This is a hilarious episode. It contains the famous scene with Del and Rodney running down a dark and foggy alley dressed as Batman and Robin. Imagine bumping into that?
Story: -
Basically, the story of this episode begins with Del being turned down for a 'home improvement grant' by Concellor Murray. He told the council that he wants to renovate the kitchen, but he really just wants the £5000 to put in his pocket.
A trip down to the Nags head gets Del to purchase some tickets for a party just so he can win the prize.
Raquel gets a call from her parents and ends up taking Damien to visit them leaving the trotter boys alone to go to the party. Rodney does not know that Del has had it planned all along.
What else Rodney does not know is that the party is fancy dress! Him and Del dress up as Batman and Robin only to break down in the van in the middle of a high street leaving them to walk the rest of the way. This is where the famous Batman and Robin scene occurs. And who witnesses it but Coucellor Murray!
The best surprise is that the party has in fact been cancelled as the host has died. When they turn up, everybody is dressed in black for the funeral and Del and Rodney run in singing the batman tune not realising what is going on!
As you now know, this episode is one of the funniest. I highly reccommend you watch this.
This dvd is 58 minutes long and the only special feature is the scene selection which is quite disappointing. I think they should have put some extras on the dvd.

Is it really 10 years since that episode was shown. I agree this is one of the better episodes but you could have done with including more info, and assume people have never heard of this series (I know that's hard to believe but ...).
