income tax, no VAT and certainly no guarantee of anything but laughs as Del and Rodders hit the high-rise world of inner-city dealing.Trotters Independent Traders Company (TITCO) remains commercially unviable: Del is stuck with 125 unpredictable Latvian radio alarms, the council have rejected his home improvement grant application and Rodders is on a sex programme that would leave Roger Rabbit knackered. But when our fancy-dressed caped crusaders turn street vigilantes, they find being on the right side of the law has its own rewards.

This hour long Christmas special was first aired on Christmas day 1996, released onto DVD in 2004, and was the first of the 1996 trilogy of specials from the Only fools team.
**BRIEF PLOT…
The future doesn’t look to bright for Rodney, (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and Cassandra, (Gwyneth Strong) as a grown-up Damien, (Douglas Hodge), seems to be ruling a world where everyone is at war with each other. Del, (David Jason), and Raquel, (Tessa Peake-Jones) live in a mansion and Uncle Albert, (Buster Merryfield) is not quite himself, but continues to waffle on about his time ‘during the war…’. Fortunately, for Rodney, things aren’t quite what he visualises they are, much to the worlds delight.
Back in the real world, Rodney and Cassandra are trying for a baby and at it like rabbits, so to speak, and Del’s interference doesn’t help. It’s also Rodney’s birthday and his present from Del is something rather special indeed. And when Del receives news that he has been refused a council grant he is not happy with a certain councillor Murray, (Angela Bruce). And to top it all, there is a spate of mugging happening on the estate
Meanwhile, down at the café, Trigger, (Roger Lloyd Pack), is bragging about a medal he received for apparently saving the council money, but things aren’t quite as clear cut as he thinks, remember, this is Trigger.
Also, there’s a Publicans fancy dress Ball happening and with Cassandra in Spain and Raquel and Damien, (Jamie Smith), away visiting Raquel’s parents, Del persuades Rodney to go to the party, but Rodney is not to pleased when he finds out what he and Del are going as.
So the pair head off to the party dressed as two rather well known super heroes, only to run into trouble with their precious three wheeled van and a rather scared Councillor. Things then go from bad to worse for the Trotter pair when thy finally arrive at the party only to find that the theme has changed, leaving them slightly over dressed.
But Del’s luck seems to improve slightly when he unwittingly becomes a hero and also receives a nice letter in the post. And with Rodney and Cassandra’s luck changing for the good too things in the Trotter camp couldn’t be rosier.
** IN CONCLUSION…
Another fine Christmas special from the brains of John Sullivan, bringing more ups and downs to the Trotter household, and in this episode there are more downs than ups. The story in this episode, like many other Only fools sagas, combines several mini stories to create one glorious ending, with some cracking side splitting laughs. Even though some scenes may be a little predictable the results are still so funny they will have you rolling in the aisle. It has a few twists and turns, combining bad luck with a little good, bringing smiles and frowns throughout the hour it is showing. And there are several scenes which are a shear joy to watch, especially such scenes involving Trigger and his medal, Uncle Albert drinking apple juice and also two well known figures emerging from the mist, plus many many more.
The acting is as good as ever, with David Jason excelling in his role as the ducking and diving, although now slightly under the thumb, little man. Lyndhurst continues as the unlucky younger brother, his expressions are so funny and are always well timed, giving the show many moments of fun. Strong and Peake-Jones are now well established as the Trotters ‘significant others’, there acting seeming to fit in with the show, giving the stories that little bit more zest.
And the rest of the cast give the show that extra comical kick, especially Roger Lloyd Pack as the ever so nice but very dim Trigger, and in this episode he really does come into his own, giving some cracking laughs during a conversation in the café involving a brush, shear genius.
In all, this is a great episode with rather a fine story, continuing to keep the Trotter as household names. There is plenty of comedy throughout, giving the audience many laughs and even some cringes. It is another classic episode and well worth adding to your collection.
If you want to get a copy of this then get over to www.amzon.co.uk and grab one for less than £7.00, although you don’t get any extras on the actual disc you are still getting a bargain for an hour of pure fun.
Advantages: Everybody's Favourite Episode Disadvantages: Those wanting extras may grumble, still worth having
...David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst Only Fools and Horses is probably the nations best loved sitcom. This is the modern classic Heroes and Villains. This took a while to come out on DVD which was a bit annoying for those wanting to complete their collection but this episode was truly worth waiting for. You'll all have seen it, 18 million saw it the first time it was on TV. But maybe you'll need a reminder of just how good it is. You may or may not ... ...of the funniest moments in Only Fools history. It begins with the image of the broken down van, sitting in the middle of a pedestrianised street, containing Batman and Robin themselves. Not wanting to be there when the pubs chuck out they make a run for the party. A mugging is taking place, the local councillor fighting to keep hold of her handbag, when out of the mist, to strains of the 70's Batman theme, come the caped crusaders. This is an all ...

Advantages: Brilliant humour Disadvantages: None
A brilliant series of only fools and horses. If you like comedy you cant go wrong with a touch of only fools and horses. I have all the series on dvd and have watched them all numerous times and still find them hilarious. They are classics.
In this episode it involves raquel going to her parents house and being afraid to talk about del to her parents as she is slightly embarassed about him, While raquel is away del and rodney are invited to a fancy ... ...dvd is let down by the features that you usually get on a dvd. On this dvd their is only the option of doing a scene selection which does not sound very exciting and your right but forget about that and concentrate on the episode.
Well worth a buy!!!! ...

DVD Description
T.I.T.C.O. (that's Trotters Independent Traders) is still having a bad time of it, cash flow-wise, with 125 Latvian radio-alarms remaining unsold. Rodney is on a sex regime with Cassandra which leaves him feeling more weak and feeble than usual. In a classic scene, Del and Rodney are seen running heroically through the estate giving chase to a street criminal, they forget they're dressed as Batman and Robin.
