scrapes as they duck and dive their way through life must have sounded like a complete non-starter, but John Sullivan's quickfire scripts for Only Fools and Horses and the spot-on performances by Jason (Del), Lyndhurst (Rodney) and Pierce (Grandad) combine to perfection in this beautifully crafted classic comedy. As there's no padding at all in OFAH it's almost essential to own it in recorded form just to pick up on all the brilliant detail, so having an entire eight-episode series in a single package is even better. This second series both begins and ends with complications involving women, opening with Rodney's dangerous liaison with a policewoman and closing with Del's infatuation with Heather, who has ambitions as an actress. Along the way, there's a bit of trouble with the Spanish police, some North Korean (sic) porcelain, a rather eventful painting job in a Chinese restaurant and generally more laughs than you can shake a Pringle sweater at. On the DVD: the DVD comes in at a whopping 231 minutes--the whole series on one disc, which is handy--and has an episode/scene index. --Roger Thomas
obstinately proud salesman of goods of dodgy quality and even dodgier legality. Humiliating his dopey brother, whining grandfather and leech-like uncle, he insisted that "this time next year we'll be millionaires". What made Only Fools and Horses so appealing was the very real affection that writer John Sullivan felt for all these characters and, with stories that were often as moving as they were hilarious, the show was both a celebration and critique of Thatcherite Britain.Much of the first five series is on video, but for those who feel embarrassed travelling with a TV and video recorder on their lap, their scripts now exist in this more portable volume. Without visuals and vocals, they may not make many converts, but highlights abound, such as Rodney's date with a policewoman and a slasher movie send-up, and the book ends with the moving episode where Del Boy turns down a job in Australia.Mildly let down by a rather meagre two-page Trotter to English dictionary, this is nevertheless a treat. "Pas de calais" as Del would say. --Stephen Portlock

Advantages: Very funny comedy series, one of the best. Disadvantages: none
...OnlyFools and Horses is possibly the best british comedy to hit the screens. David Jason is fantastic, pure comedy gem. He and Nicholas Lindhurst make an award winning double team. Not only is this funny but John Sullivan putsin some tear jearking moments aswell. Another great thing about Fools and Horses is the supporting cast. Trigger who for some reason calls Rodney "Dave", Boycee the rich arragant bloke who is allways taking the mick out of Del and Rodney. I have always loved onlyfools and horses and every time i watch it, no matter how many times i watch it, it always makes me smile. I thouroghly recommend this product and hope this show brings as much happiness to you as it has done me....

Advantages: 5 solid episodes of the classic Disadvantages: Are they the five best?
...As a massive OnlyFools and Horses fan, this DVD is a great addition to the collection and at £15.99 I believed it to be a decent price when purchasing. It features the five following episodes:
-Big Brother (the very first episode)
-The Russians Are Coming
-A Losing Streak
-No Greater Love
-A Touch Of Glass
It markets itself as five of the best and it certainly doesn't disappoint.
The 'Big Brother' episode, the first ever OnlyFools and Horses episode is a classic tale, Rodney and Del attempt desperately to sell some 'knocked-off' suitcases, but in typical OnlyFools and Horses fashion, throw the lot in the river by the end of the episode!. This episode also features Rodney's first attempt at running away/ leaving home, this is as unsuccessful as the suitcase scheme!.
'The Russians Are Coming' also is a good episode, with plenty...

Advantages: Some of the best episodes from only fools and horses Disadvantages: No bonus material
...BBC's onlyfools and horses is one of the all time classic shows ever shown. I have had All the best volume 3 for sometime now so i will tell you what i think of it.
I think these are some of the funniest episodes made, 'Yuppy Love', 'Danger UXD', 'Stage fright' and 'Three men, A woman and a baby'. I have watched these many times and they are still very funny.
Yuppy Love
Del boy joins the yuppy set with red braces and a filofax and looking for the most trendy wine bars and bistros and leaves a lasting impression in one of them with Trigger.
Rodney starts taking a omputer course and meets a woman called Casandra and falls in love but is she the one and does she feel the same
Danger UXD
After a deal with Densel to buy some dolls Del Boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert think they are onto a winner until they find out they are not the type...
