This season in my opinion has to be the turning point. What happens to the characters is no longer teenage drama, but it develops and things become more serious and they begin to realise what matters in life and what matters to them. They try to pursue what they want, and although they make mistakes, which is understandable, they are only human, they try to put them right and make right what they have made wrong.

Lucas and Brooke – Lucas tries to win Brooke over, as at the end of last season you would have seen him tell her how he feels about her. Surprisingly, she feels the same, but doesn’t want to get her heart broken again so she plays games with him, which ends up ruining things between them. They do end up together, but watch as their relationship is tested and how they work at it. How will it all end for the couple?

Keith Scott returns to Tree Hill to face life. He realised the reason why he stayed away so long was because of his feelings for Karen. Karen Roe realises that Keith is the one in her heart and it is time she put her happiness first and gave him a chance, so she does, and they get together. She soon proposes to him, and they are due to get married until a tragic accident, where Keith is killed. He ends up being murdered, shot by his brother Dan Scott.

Dan Scott realises that even after 17 years, Karen is the love of his life and that he made the biggest mistake of his life by leaving her. He runs for mayor of Tree Hill and wins the election. He also shoots his older brother Keith, and gets an AVO to stay away from Nathan and Deb. He is lucky to be invited to Nathan and Haley's second wedding.

Deb’s addiction to drugs and alcohol get worse, and she goes to rehab, though it doesn’t work, because after coming home she lapses. We find out that she was the one that tried to burn Dan in the dealership fire, and confesses this to him at Nathan and Haley's second wedding.

Nathan and Haley get back together and get married again, in front of all their friends and family, but the wedding ends in tragedy. Nathan realises that Haley isn’t going anywhere, and starts to trust her again. He still loves her, but he is hurt and doesn’t trust her and doesn’t want to go through the pain of loosing her again, so avoids her to start with until he feels that she’s here for the long run and he wants to be with her.

Peyton gets to know her birth mum Ellie, who turns out to have cancer. To start with, Peyton sends Ellie away because she feels that she can’t trust her, but then guilt starts playing up on her, the fact that Ellie is dying and she sent her away, so Peyton goes and finds her and they work on a benefit CD together and get to know each other before Ellie eventually dies. During the season, we find that Peyton is missing Jake but when she goes to see him near the end of the Season, we find out that it’s not Jake in her heart, but Lucas, and he is the one she really wants and Loves.

The season is full of surprises and unexpected twist that will have you laughing as well as crying. You will feel mixed emotions as well as the pain that the characters go through during their school year. Watch and be amazed about what can happen in life.

The songs featured in the episodes are fantastic. There are a different range of songs used from R’n’B to Indie. Songs to meet everyone’s taste. I thought that the songs complimented the scenes and the episodes well, and that the right songs were used at the right moments. I liked some of the songs so much that I went out and bought them. Artists featured include: Fall Out Boy, Tyler Hilton, Nada Surf, Bethany Joy Lenz, and many more well known artists.
