I first saw this when it was shown on television, just had to get it on dvd! As far as tribute concerts go this is great. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the performers but some seemed out of place. Chrissy Hynde still looked cool in her black jeans but she seemed awkward performing. I love the way they blended some of the songs with rapping, the music of Mr Marley should rarely be messed with but this worked well. Lauryn Hill brought a charismatic presence and superb performances, she delivers several memorable interpretations of Bob Marley‘s music. Busta Rhymes was his usual cool self, giving the music his own flair. All the Marley children were marvellous, the legend definitely lives on in each and every one of them . Tracy Chapman is one of my favourite performers and I loved her & Ziggy‘s rendition of Trenchtown Rock The quality of the performance is inspired and a fitting tribute. It works very well at bringing Bob Marley’s music up to date and bridges the gap (is there one to be bridged?) between reggae and rap, widening his appeal can only ever be a good thing. The whole concert has a good uplifting vibe, with a simple message, One Love, peace and love to all.
