Advantages: Al Pacino Disadvantages: Too long; dubious soundtrack
...When this movie was first released I missed it at the cinema, and was disappointed, as I try to see anything with Al Pacino in it, and “Any given Sunday” had received good reviews.
Now that I have seen it I have mixed feelings about it.
Al Pacino is great in it, and it’s a typically detailed and lengthy movie from Oliver Stone, something which based on past experience should have been in its favour.
But, I finished up not really enjoying it that much.
It’s a movie about American football, and a lot of the footage features stadium action, or backroom talk of tactics. Now it’s a game I can’t for the life of me understand, but I don’t think that’s was my problem with the movie – in fact, it’s a sport that offers lots of visual potential, and the game scenes are very...

Advantages: Excellent acting performances, great soundtrack. Disadvantages: none
...As the title of this review suggests Any Given Sunday is one of my favourite films of all time. The fact that Al Pacino is also one of my favourite actors helped a great deal when i first decided to watch this movie, that and the fact i love american football.
The film has a massive cast Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, James Woods, Jamie Foxx and LL CooL J. All of which give fantastic performances.
The films plot follows the season of the Miami Sharks ,the aging headcoach Tony D'Amato (Pacino) is constantly under pressure from the media and club owners, the Pagniacci family. D'Amato is constantly battling with Christina Pagniacci (Diaz) whose intention is to move the Miami Sharks from their ram-shackled stadium to not just a new stadium but to a new city.
D'Amato is not helped by his team and his backroom staff that all...

Advantages: Too much to list down here! Disadvantages: Pretty violent, typical oliver stone style!
...to give the strongest impact to audiences.
One should be forewarned, however, that this film is not for very young viewers. Locker room scenes are full of male nudity. The scenes on the football field are so vicious and include an eyeball being poked out of its socket. This is another example of a one-eye scenario which is higlighted in a lot of hollywood movies, portraying the Freemason movement(which stone is famous for)
Coach Tony D'Amato's character says in the film: "On any given Sunday, you're gonna win or you're gonna lose. The point is: can you win or lose like a man?"
This film certainly is a winner, so if you like fast pace, highly tense movie, this one is for you. Put your helmet on, baby!
Nuff said about the film, the DVD is full packed with a lot extras as well. You've got loads of deleted/extended scenes, commentary...
