Advantages: It is an interesting series Disadvantages: It ends with a cliffhanger that it seems will never be resolved
...the whole planet being destroyed. ODYSSEY 5 is Silva's only regular series to date, she has mainly been seen as a guest star in other TV shows, including CSI Miami.
Sebastian Roche (who appears in the new Robert Zemeckis movie BEOWULF) and Tamara Craig Thomas (better known as Detective Mickey Kollander in the crime drama Cold Squad) round out the crew who have been sent back in time.

Advantages: Great plot, great subplots, great characters (when they get into it) Disadvantages: Well that fairly major issue... it ends at episode 19, with no finale!
It was one of those "oh well, there's nothing else that looks any good, let's give it a go" type purchases.
For once, it turned up trumps! (For a while... read on!)
Great premise, great characters, interesting subplots - this show looked like it was going to go from strength to strength!
Main plotline goes along the lines of:
6 people orbiting Earth in a space shuttle watch the Earth be destroyed. One of the team gets killed in the aftermath, ... ...reality of what happened dawns on them, and they realise they are the last remaining humans, they also realise they are going to run out of air rapidly. Now, here is where it starts to get a little "kooky"... Just as they've all given up hope, they get rescued by an alien space ship (yes, yes I know... give it a chance!) who sends the team back in time by 5 years to try to stop the world exploding.
So now they're 5 years in the past with the "memories" ...

DVD Description
While in orbit around the Earth, the crew of Space Shuttle Odyssey witnesses the inconceivable: the complete annihilation of Earth in a fiery explosion. With one crew member dead, another suffering from a concussion, and only nine hours of oxygen left on the ship, the fate of the astronauts seems to be sealed. But then they encounter a mysterious alien entity known as The Seeker that informs them that populated planets across the universe are suffering the same cataclysmic fate as the Earth. Using its strange powers, The Seeker transports the five surviving members of the Odyssey back through time. The members of the crew wake up five years earlier; the Earth still exists, but they all share the same awful memory of what lies in store. Seeking each other out, they must discover the secret of the Bright Sky and figure out the meaning of the last message sent from Earth, a coded warning about something known as Leviathan. If they can't solve the mystery then history will repeat, and the world will end in inferno.
