No subtitles needed here

Advantages: A rare EP from Julianne with even rarer extras on Amazon!
Disadvantages: Some of the tracks are a bit TOO different from her usual fare

Jules Et Jim was another of Julianne Regans side projects that she explored after the original break up of her more famous band All About Eve. After the end of Mice (my "Because I Can" album review is also available on here) she had a break for 1 year before hooking up with Jean-Marc Lederman in 1999, the band as an entity only released 1 single (Swimming, which isn't on this release oddly enough) and this EP. Julianne Regan wrote & performed all vocals (apart from one) whilst Jean-Marc Lederman played all the instruments. So whats on Subtitles then? 01 - If Life Were A Movie. There are lots of movie references in this, I'll admit I can't spot half of them. Its got a great upbeat chorus which really makes a good contrast to the down toned main verses. Theres lots of drums (a drum machine I assume) but the other instruments are ...

Review of Subtitles - Jules Et Jim

Whatever happened to Saskia Wagter?

Advantages: Utterly compelling, great performances
Disadvantages: None for me

really quite chilling despite this and could provide sensitive children with nightmares, so parents may want to check it out before allowing them to watch. The film is a French/Dutch collaboration and as such, is subtitled. I was expecting it to be in French, which, for the most part, it is, but there is some dialogue in Dutch and the beginning and occasionally throughout the film. The subtitles are excellent, which is just as well as this is very much a film based on dialogue. I love French and was able to understand a little of what was being said without reading the subtitles, but those who struggle with reading subtitles may find it tiring. Certainly, this is not a film during which you can have a lapse of concentration. There is a Hollywood version of the film starring Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland (also directed by Sluizer), which ...

DiNovo Desktop Stylin...

Advantages: Sleek and sexy
Disadvantages: Hefty price

Gone are the days of those horribly beige keyboards and mice with wires that just won't be tidied and with the introduction of this complete wireless Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse package that not only looks good but feels spectacluar, Logitech have come up trumps with the DiNovo Desktop package. This is an incredibly well designed product and its elegance does not outweigh its functionality. The package contains one Dinovo Keyboard, one Logitech MX900 Mouse and one very innovative seperate Media Pad (with an LCD display) all equiped with Bluetooth 1.2 for communication with the external USB Bluetooth Hub (the receiver). This hub also doubles up as a charger cradle for the mouse. Logitech were also kind enough to supply me the batteries needed to power all this kit, which is handy as the requirements are: Keyboard = 4 x AA Batteries ...
