Broken Flowers is a film directed by Jim Jarmusch whose previous film before this was Coffee and Cigarettes, released in 2003. This film was released in 2005. I haven?t seen any of his previous work.
The story starts showing somebody posting a letter. It is in a pink envelope written in red ink. This letter is what this story is all about as posting this makes a big change in somebody?s life. Showing the letter being delivered from the post box to the intended house is the opening credits to the film.
The film then moves to Don Johnston, sitting on his sofa just staring with a deadpan expression on his face. His girlfriend Sherry then appears informing him that she has packed up all of the things and is leaving. This is when you get a bit of an insight into who Don is. She tells him that she feels like a mistress even ...
Despite it?s huge success , the film Notting Hill had never appealed to me . I don?t know if was because of the fact that I was only about ten or eleven when the film came out , and so because of the ?cover? of the DVD , as a child , I instantly thought ?that looks boring? , and so I had always had that opinion of the film , despite the saying ? Never Judge A Book (or in this case , a film) by it?s cover).
However , many years later , I am sat in a media studies lesson in college, when the teacher tells the class that we are going to be watching clips from movies and then analysing the setting , speech , lighting , etc. The first film to come on was Notting Hill. As well as the twelve episodes, the box set also contains some special features. I will admit that the special features included in the CSI box-sets have decreased in quantity and quality over time but to be brutally honest I don?t personally buy a box-set for the special features they contain but for the actual programme and could therefore never mark a box-set down for lacking in them.
The special features for this box-set consists solely of episode commentaries and because I am not in any way a fan of such commentaries I?m afraid I cannot comment on the quality of them.

Faith, family ties, and marital fidelity are all put to the test in NOT EASILY BROKEN, a thoughtful African-American domestic drama based on the novel by mega-pastor T.D. Jakes. As the film opens, Dave Johnson (Morris Chestnut) sets the story to date: his marriage to Clarice (Taraji P. Henson), his dream of being a major league baseball player, and the couple’s shared love and faith. Ten years later, Dave’s dreams have been dashed by a career-ending injury, leaving Clarice’s success as a real estate agent to fuel their tony life. This leaves Dave feeling increasingly emasculated--a volatile situation further enflamed by Clarice’s criticism that Dave spends too much time coaching inner-city youths. This simmering tension boils over when the two are involved in a near-fatal car crash. Clarice’s subsequent physical rehabilitation compels her embittered mother (Jenifer Lewis) to move into the couple’s home and join Clarice in chastising Dave for ignoring his husbandly duties. To escape this daily barrage, Dave spends more and more time with divorcée Julie (Maeve Quinlan), the physical therapist who helps Clarice get back on her feet, as well as Julie’s young son.
