I bought my son this set from Woolworth's during it s closing down sale but as he had just had more toys and DVD's than any boy needs I saved it for his birthday in April. It is currently £16.99 on Amazon but I paid about £5.

Noddy and the Taxi states on the front cover suitable for ages 1-6 years which I tend to agree with not due to content but because I would imagine a six year old would have lost interest although I still enjoy watching Noddy.

The stories featured on this DVD are:

***Too Many Noddies ***
Noddy goes to visit his friend Big ears in Toadstool house and learns a doubling spell. Noddy realises that if he uses the doubling spell he can get more done in one day. As you can imagine things do get out of hand as there are more and more Noddys’ .

***Noddy and the magic bagpipes ***
After another visit to Big ears he decides he is going to learn to play the bagpipes and borrows big ears, but while he is warned he must practise every day he is easily distracted leaving to an unforeseen consequence.

***Noddy has a Visitor ***
Noddy has a party in which Martha monkey attends. Noddy is reprimanded by Dinah doll for not treating his guests correctly but Martha monkey takes advantage of this and has poor Noddy running round for her.

***Noddy's perfect gift ***
It is Tessie bears birthday and Noddy writes her a song to sing for her. On his way to see Tessie He meets other characters who live in Toyland who convince him that a song is not enough. After baking a cake, getting some flowers the goblins convince him he needs some jewellery. As usual you can guarantee once the goblins are involved there is trouble.

***Noddy's lucky Day***
It is cars birthday and after getting a card from Mr Sparks Fortune telling machine informing him it will be his lucky day he gets sadder and sadder as his day seems to go very badly indeed.

The second DVD: Noddy Island adventure sates on the front exclusive to DVD and Video.

This DVD has only one story which all the residents go on a trip to the beach but after the Goblins steal their lunch they set off to an island on Noddy's boat in search of goggle berries.

overall opinion

My son was very pleased to receive this DVD as Noddy is one of his favourites. I am happy for him to watch Noddy as Noddy always does try to do the right thing although it never seems to go right in the beginning and that is an important lesson for children. He does however giggle every time he sees the naughty Goblins.

My son would happily watch this DVD over and over again and frequently does. He does tend to prefer the second DVD and will often as me to put that one on. I cannot tell you why due to his lack of speech.

Noddy and even the characters that get into trouble always make amends so is a valuable lesson in life. This does teach good morals and values in a quite unsubtle way.

The only concern I would have is now that Noddy has recently changed on Milkshake program on Channel 5 to a more up to date program where Noddy has a different voice and there are many more characters so I am not sure how long it will be till this DVD seems dated. For now though it my house it is the one to watch.

Summary

In summary this is a great buy for pre schoolers
A Good buy for Lovers of Noddy
