No Angels - Series 2 DVD

Advantages: Lots more familiar characters from the Buffy universe
Disadvantages: Some of the special features are tedious

...Plot In season 2 Angel moves away from its Buffy origins and concentrates more on what makes Angel himself interesting - the fact that he's a vampire with a soul and is, therefore, constantly battling his inner demon and struggling for redemption. Given the destruction of their original office building at the end of season 1, the team (Angel, Wesley and Cordelia) move into the abandoned Hyperion hotel, which gives them much more room for mayhem and it turns out that Angel has been there before. The team at Angel Investigations are joined by Charles Gunn, a tough street kid with a history of fighting vampires and once again are battling evil wherever they find it and the 'Big Bad' - the lawyers for the supernaturally challenged, Wolfram and Hart, who bring Darla (the gal who vamped Angel) back from the dead to turn him bad... Advantages: 22 episodes of fun and demon killing
Disadvantages: Again the box lets it down

Actors talk about how they feel about their characters. Very interesting. "Stunts" Featurette: How some of the stunts are done and co-ordinated. Now… With the disks and there contents out of the way we can talk about what they come in. ...After having watched all seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and owning them on DVD, I decided the time had come to purchase the boxsets of the spin-off series Angel. Although I enjoyed the first season, I felt it was perhaps a little disjointed, so when I started on this the second season I was a little apprehensive, but was I right to be so? Advantages: Top casting, excellent script
Disadvantages: A little obvious at times

...Starring Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore as Natalie, Dylan and Alex, Charlies Angels is the first movie spin-off from the 1970's series of the same name. Those expecting a full length version of the series will go home dissapointed (the only similarity being the voice of Charlie, still done by John Forsyth of Dynasty fame). If however, like me, you've gone purely to be entertained then this is one of the best action comedies to be released in the year 2000. Bringing together set-piece routines from hit films such as The Matrix with the quirkiness of Austin Powers and the all-out explosive actions of MI2 (albeit without the actual explosions in most cases) I can thoroughly recommend Charlies Angels as a movie to go and see... ...in photos from the series with the opportunity to win Buffy and Angel merchandise from the video insert. Suddenly everything comes to light, tv edited parts fully uncut in the videos give you the full picture for each episode. Despite the obvious cost of buying the whole Angel season on boxset, it is something that needs to be done – if you believe that Angel is the best tv series you’ve ever seen!! Advantages: No more Hellmouth, just general evil
Disadvantages: Far more violent - not for younger viewers

...the season, with Wesley becoming a permanent member of the team. The format is similar to Buffy, with a series of monsters to fight and a 'Big Bad' lurking in the background. The overall environment is darker though, with more violence (hence the 18 certificate for the boxset; episodes were edited when broadcast on channel 4). DVD boxset information 6 discs, 22 episodes, in a cardboard binder-style case and an outer cardboard sleeve. The DVD envelopes are lined to prevent damage to the discs.
