No Angels - Series 1 DVD

Advantages: very funny....
Disadvantages: not that i can think of.

Ok right well let me start by telling you Im still quite new to this review-writing lark, so please feel free to tell me where I am going wrong. I saw one episode of this series a repeat on some digital channel, and decided it was one of the best comedies I have seen in ages. For some strange reason I appeared to have missed it on normal TV. Anyway after seeing this one episode ordered it online. At the moment you can get it for £17.99 on play.com ...
...it before the 2nd series came out. The front of the DVD is white; the text is in quite a funky pink colour, with a big picture of all four of the characters laughing. ...First impressions are always the most important, and my first impressions of Buffy spin off Angel was that it had great potential and could stand equal with Buffy the vampire slayer. We arrive in LA where Angel is continuing his work as the dark avenger against all those that are evil and blood sucking! Meeting a half demon called Doyle who plays his sidekick and link to the powers that be helping Angel see when there will be danger and people needing his services. We also see the arrival of Sunnydales Cordelia who is chasing an acting dream but it doesnt seem to be going anywhere so she joins the team and Angel finds himself as the boss of Angel investigations-helping the helpless. Advantages: more adult than buffy, characters are great, most episodes are good

...*Intro* Well the first season of angel is definately better than the first season of Buffy for sure (hated it!). Angel was created by Buffy creator Joss Whedon and Buffy Writer/Producer David Greenwalt. The show takes a more adult and darker tone than Buffy, and perhaps aims to get more adults into the Buffyverse. This Season of Angel is in short very good and here is why. *Season 1* Many Angel fans do not like this series as much as the others, perhaps because it does not have a very big story arc. However myself being a very big angel fan disagree with this viewpoint. Granted the season does not have a great story arc compared to the other seasons, however the stand-alone episodes are great and define exactly what Angel is about, helping the helpless!. ...Angel is a spin-off from the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although it was aimed at fans of Buffy, you can still enjoy this series if you haven't seen much or any of Buffy. I don't know why this DVD has been put in the horror section, since it's not scary. Angel (David Boreanas) is a vampire cursed with a soul, recently moved to LA. Shortly after his arrival, he meets Doyle (Glenn Quinn), a part-demon who receives visions from the Powers That Be. He has come to help Angel make a connection to the people he is trying to save. Also helping him make a connection is Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), who has also joined this series from Buffy. Failing to start a career as an actress, she convinces Angel to start up a private investigation company, Angel Investigations, looking into the demonic activities and saving the innocent. Also...
