...not what it seems. The Nirvana songs listed are mainly radio recordings, with actors pretending to be them. There are only four live videos with the actual band. The interviews are with Granda Cobain and Alice Wheeler which aren't the best choice of people. If you are a fan who has to have every piece of merchandise and every recording, then this is useful but if not I would recommend another. Nirvana

Nirvana was an American grunge band with Kurt Cobain on guitar and vocals, Dave Grohl (the longest lasting of many drummers) on drums and Krist Novoselic on bass. They sold over 50 million records worldwide and achieved mainstream success with "Smells like teen spirit" from the album Nevermind. As the first grunge band they opened the door for other band such as pearl jam, alice in chains and soundgarden. The bands came to an end when Kurt committed suicide in April 1994 although they still continued to, and still are, gaining fans.

Live on air

Live on air has interviews, unseen television footage and a digitally remastered radio broadcast. It also features the songs; "Rape me", "Smells like teen spirit", "Territorial pissings", "Heart-Shaped box", "Love Buzz", "Floyd the barber", "Downer", "Mexican seafood", "White lace and strange", "Spank Thru", "Anorexocist", "Hairspray queen" and "pen cap chew".

My opinion

The DVD sounds like it's going to be over an hour of great footage. In reality all is not what it seems. The Nirvana songs listed are mainly radio recordings, with actors pretending to be them. There are only four live videos with the actual band. The interviews are with Granda Cobain and Alice Wheeler which aren't the best choice of people. If you are a fan who has to have every piece of merchandise and every recording, then this is useful but if not I would recommend another. I am a huge fan of the music but as I am running low on cash I have to be careful. I wish I had gone for something else, and chances are, you will too.

Summary

Not a bad DVD but there are so many better. The price is unfair for what you get and I don't think many fans will consider this a valuable item in their Nirvana collection. I would recommend trying something else rather than this. You will probably regret buying it.
