On his first night out of boredom he messes about a bit and then falls asleep, but when he wakes up he discovers that the T-Rex skeleton has came alive. Frantically he calls one of the previous nightguards (Cecil) who simply tells him to read the instruction manual, it says, "Throw the bone." Soon after he meets the Capuchin monkey, Dexter, who pinches his keys and rips the instruction manual to shreds which isn't very sufficient for Larry. ... ...and the whole museum runs riot. He finds out that ever since an Egyptian tablet belonging to a Pharaoh, Akmen-Ra, was brought to the museum, everything comes to life each night. However, if the exhibits are outside of the museum by sunrise, they turn to dust. Larry needs to find a way to keep all of the exhibits under control before something bad happens.

Advantages: many well known actors star in the film and many extras on the DVD Disadvantages: The sountrack isn't great
...Night at the museum is such a simple idea which works really well. A museum which comes to life and a night guard (Ben Stiller) has to cope with these problems and the results are hilarious. The film is great itself but the DVD has lots of great extras including deleted scenes with optional commentary, behind the scenes, interactive DVD games, McFly music video, cast and crew commentarys, trailers and much more. The film also stars some great cast including Ben Stiller as the lead role 'Larry Daley'. The Music is good but far from memorable and the film doesnt have many special effects but then again it would'nt suit the film. The story line is very good but the film really stands out because of the mass of well known actors who star in the film. Overall a must buy....

...Night At The Museum.
The Film:
This film is about a man who needs a job so he doesnt have to leave the city (in which his son live with his mum and step dad). So he goes to the local history museum where actually gets a job and meets a beautiful woman who is obsessed with sakachuia the indian woman from like centuries agos. When he does his first nightshift it doesnt go quite as planned.Everything comes to life even the t-rex bones known as rexy.So he gets n a bit of a pickle because he has to make sure all of the statues replicas ect are all back safely before sunrise and make sure none of them get out of the museum.
i recommend this film to young children who really love a laugh and the same with adults...

...I thought this was a brilliant film with a great storyline. Ben Stiller is the main charater in this film and he plays a character called larry, larry keeps trying to invent things without success so his ex partner tells him he has to get a proper job otherwise his son wont be able to stay over his house, anyway he looks for a job and he finds a vancency in a museum and gets the job, but its not what he expected, the musuem come to life at night. I found this film a barrel of laughs and think its great for the hule family, its one the whole family can enjoy. i would recoment this film to anyone who enjoys comedys but i also think people who enjoy all kinds of diffrent films would enjoy this movie. DVD Description
Ben Stiller plays Larry Daley, a down-on-his-luck divorced father in this family-friendly tale directed by Shawn Levy (JUST MARRIED, CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN). Larry has lots of ideas and dreams, but none of them come to fruition. In an attempt to prove his stability to his ex-wife (Kim Raver) and his son, Nicky (Jake Cherry), Larry accepts a job as a night guard at the Museum of Natural History. But the elderly night guards who hire him (played by entertainment legends Mickey Rooney, Dick Van Dyke, and Bill Cobbs) fail to mention one crucial detail: when the museum is closed, everything inside comes to life. From Attila the Hun to miniature Roman soldiers, African mammals to Neanderthal men, and Egyptian mummies to dinosaur skeletons, the museum teems with lively activity. Now it’s Larry’s job to control the mayhem and show his son that he is, indeed, a great man after all. There might be a moral to this story, which is based on the book of the same name by Milan Trenc, but the screenplay and action remain light and breezy. Stiller is perfect as Larry, particularly in scenes with a sneaky monkey who repeatedly gets the better of him. Brief appearances by Anne Meara (Stiller’s real-life mother) and Paul Rudd add to the fun. Carla Gugino plays a museum docent, Ricky Gervais portrays the incomprehensible museum director, and Robin Williams moonlights as a wax figure of Teddy Roosevelt that comes to life. Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan are particularly amusing as a bickering miniature cowboy and a Roman soldier.
