Advantages: Great story line, relistic, good special effects and models. Disadvantages: None that I can think of other than no English Subtitles
...I have to say that this is a very good film and one I remmeber from my childhood and worth watching again and again especially with the kids.
The story line of a child overcoming his fears and bullies is an old story but is taken on a new form, as he shares his adventure of building his self worth and confidence with creatures from another world. A world it appears he has in some part created and is living in as part of his fantasy, as he reads the book with the Orin symbol (two crossing snakes) the cover.
This film would be more or less every childs fantasy to be part of the fantasy world in which Atrailiu lives in, as well as the flying Luck Dragon and his various companions good and bad who follow his progress on his journey. The fact that it flows into real life at the end makes it very interesting and watchable so make sure you...

Advantages: For any age Disadvantages: lack of special feature
...Bastian is now back in Fantasia, but instead of him reading the story like the first one, he has been plunged into the school, due to a it evil sorceress Xayide, who has casted a spell on a neckless h Bastian loses his memory everytime he makes a wish. We find out in this one what happened to his mother -she died of cancer. At first I thought this was going to be a poor sequel, but I was wrong, its just as good as the first one, no its even better They have taken the storyline to a new height, with an interesting angle on it. Though there is a lack of special features on the dvd that I would have expected, though it doesn’t take anything away from the movie. I was hoping for maybe a part where they should you how they did certain features of the movie, but alass there wasnt. The special effects are amazing and the quality is of a very...

Alone in an attic, a young boy named Bastian picks up a book and starts to read. As he becomes engrossed in the story, he is transported to the magical storybook world of Fantasia. Bastian soon learns that when humanity stopped believing in the power of imagination, great storms of Nothingness swept over the once-thriving kingdom, destroying everything in their path. On his way to find a cure to save Fantasia, he encounters flying dragons, swamp monsters, and a vast assortment of other strange creatures. Animated series based on Wolfgang Petersen's charming children’s fable of the same name.
Advantages: Good acting, wonderful story...there are far too many to mention. Disadvantages: The Gmork may frighten young children.
...The NeverendingStory is a film based upon the book of the same name by Michael Ende and is about the adventures of a young boy, Bastian Balthazar Bux (Oliver Barret).
Bastian loves to read books and one day after running away from school bullies, he takes refuge in Coreander's bookshop. It is here that he is introduced to the book of 'The NeverendingStory', but is warned off of it by the owner of the shop, Carl Coreander. This is because this book is like no other. For in other books, no matter how involved you become with the story, at the end of the day it is only a story, the same isn't true however with 'The NeverendingStory'! Bastian however still wants to read it, and as soon as Coreander's back is turned he borrows the book. He heads off to his school and decides to take sanctuary in the attic, and prepares to read the book...

Advantages: references the master Disadvantages: how many times are they gonna reference the master
...The never-endingstory of trust and betrayal told once again through an old crime boss and his young employees. Although the front cover has Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee written on it, they are not in much of the film. Chow is in 2 or 3 scenes and Danny Lee is in 1. Besides from that it is a good film and does have a lot of high octane fight scenes. Code of Honour bares resemblance to Ran, by Akira Kurosawa, though unlike some other referencing films it does have its own original story.
PS
There are no special effects in this film, ignore ‘weak’...
