~~~~~~~~~ The Movie ~~~~~~~~~
The film opens on a landscape of decimation and decay as Lord Yupa Voiced by ‘Patrick Stewart’ enters a deserted village. The village has succumbed to the spores and been overrun by giant hideous insects as the Poisonous Jungle encroaches further across the world.
For a thousand years since the first poisons where released from the jungle, mankind has fought a losing battle and a thousand years ago created the kyoshinhei, or giant warriors to fight and burn the jungle back to ashes. But the Warriors not only burnt the jungle but destroyed the world of humans before succumbing to their own destruction and turning to stone.
Now a thousand years later the jungle is strong again and slowly taking over the world. Humans who venture outside must where filter masks or the deadly spores will kill them.
Enter our Heroine, Princess Nausicaa and her glider as she saves lord Yupa from the attack of a huge skyscraper sized creature called an Ohmu.
Enough of the plot, along the way there will be many weird and frightening creatures, incredible jungle scenes and underground caverns, battles between men and insects and men and soldiers. There will be deaths and destruction, secrets and salvation. And the biggest secret involving the insects and the jungle itself.
Before finally a giant warrior comes back to life but this time it must be stopped from going on a rampage or everything, Everthing will die.
Only Nausicaa can stop both machine and insects and only Nausicaa knows the secrets that are hidden beneath the earth.
~~~~~~~~ Animation ~~~~~~~~ Visually stunning right from the first 5 seconds right up until the massive battle defying ending. The jungle is both incredible to experience and terrifying to see as flora and fauna unite to stop mankind from destroying the Earth completely.
The animation of underground wonders and aerial flying assaults all come together to make this film the best by a million miles of any Anime I have ever seen.
WATCH THIS FILM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE. I thought that Howls Castle was a gem of a movie but this one has got it all and will wow adults and children alike.
The story flows and races along at a brisk pace never slackening in its ferocity. There is also lots of humour along the way and a thought provoking message hidden very slightly beneath its surface.
A word of caution though for very small kiddies, there are some scenes of battle and dying and the insects could scare some younger viewers.
Starring the voices of, Uma Thurman, Patrick Stewart and Mark Hamil

Review of Nausicaa Valley Of The Wind (Subtitled and Dubbed) (DVD)
Advantages: Story | Looks | Characters Disadvantages: Nothing
...under Studio GHBLI collection called Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The name of the film is pretty long winded, but don't let that fool you, the film is a masterpiece like the other Miyazaki films (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery etc). The film was done in the year 1984; even though it is an old film it deserves the right of a classic and is very good for fans of Miyazaki's work and for anime fans in general.
The film starts ... ...safe direction to head to. Nausicaa went over to try and calm the monster down, by using her insect charm and some flash bangs to stun it, to stop it charging into the old man. She manages to get the monster away, and get it safely back to the forest.
Nausicaa is a princess of her village The Valley of the Wind, it is called that because the wind has never stopped blowing, the village is out of reach from the poison forest, and the village is safe ...

Hayao Miyazaki's epic, environmentally conscious anime, takes viewers on a voyage through time and space to the magical and dreamlike Valley of the Wind, where good battles evil for the future of the human race. Faced with almost certain destruction of her planet's natural resources, the warrior Princess Nausicaa must rally her people against an evil queen's brutal army to bring a new life to her homeland. Reminiscent of works by J.R.R. Tolkien, this story of responsibility, coming of age, peace, and redemption has proven to be one of the legendary Miyazaki's most enduring works. As opposed to the earlier release of this film, titled 'Warriors Of The Wind', this release stays true to Miyazaki's original work.
