Outstanding Natural Beauty

Advantages: Wonderful film, spuerb acting
Disadvantages: Nothing worth mentioning

Some of my most recent reviews have been very negative. As I have also bemoaned the lack of quality in many TV programmes and complained that too many merely set out to undermine people and their achievements I felt I was doing that which I most criticise. I will seek to redress this balance by describing some thing that is truly excellent. A film whose mere presence makes the world a better place. American Beauty is such a film. For a directors first movie to be such an absorbing spellbinding production is amazing. The film has the feel of a number of cinematic gods who have combined, used all the known wisdom gathered over a century of film making, and produced a near perfect film. Review of American Beauty (DVD)

Understanding A Beautiful Mind.

Advantages: An excellent award winning drama, based on a true story.
Disadvantages: None!

My Reason For Purchasing A Beautiful Mind DVD. I wrote this review a year or so ago for another review site which has since closed. I thought I would upload it here as A Beautiful Mind is one of my favourite Drama films ever and I just wanted to recommend it and give some opinions on it. There is quite a few reviews already about it, but I just wanted to give my two cents worth also. A Beautiful mind is one of my favourite Russell Crowe Movies. I actually like this better than the movie Gladiator. Well I watched this film a few years ago at the Movie house and I enjoyed it so much, that I bought it on DVD when it first was released. Review of A Beautiful Mind (DVD)

Legendary (American Beauty (DVD))

Advantages: Excellent acting, directing, storyline...the list goes on!
Disadvantages: none

This movie is an absolute classic. I have watched it numerous times, and every time I feel as entertained and emotionally moved as the last. The movie is extremely thought provoking, to the extent that you will most probably find yourself re-evaluating your life as a result of it! The plot: 'I feel like I've been in a coma for the past twenty years. And I'm just now waking up...' American Beauty tells the story of Lester, played by the legendary Kevin Spacey, who wishes to break free of the norm of 'keeping up appearances', his wife Carolyn Burnham (Annette Bening) is so obsessed with.
