An all time classic Jackie Chan film, a great film that I will never forget. It has everything you would expect from a Chan film, although I think this is one of his best, as the comedy and stunts are exceeded in this film, and not to mention the reminiscent music from the car scenes.
A superb comedy and action film featuring the acrobatic talents of the great Jackie Chan, My Lucky Stars follows the marvellous formula of Jackie's fantastic Winner and Sinner from 1983, which was huge hit in Japan and had the title of 5 Lucky Stars. Jackie Chan strikes In Tokyo to arrest a renegade Hong Kong cop who stole $100 million in diamonds, the Hong Kong policemen Muscles (Jackie Chan) and Ricky (Yuen Biao) pursue their quarry of investigation in a wild car chase to an amusement park in the shadow of Mount Fuji. And knowing that criminals will recognize any other Hong Kong cops, Muscles has his old orphanage friends assembled to track down the gang. Which consists of a lunatic, an idiot, a con artist, a thief, and their nominal leader Fastback (Sammo Hung who is also the director) a prisoner released to help out in the investigation. When the character Ricky is kidnapped, Fastbuck (Sammo) and Muscles (Jackie) swarms the streets of Japan with stray bullets and flying fists in this action packed thriller of cops and robbers Jackie Chan also battles his way through the clever challenges of the Haunted House, where ghosts and demons leap out from every corner, white ninjas attack in an indoor snowscape, and kabuki warriors drop from above in an upside-down room where furniture hangs from the tauntingly from the ceiling.
Although the actors may not be playing the same characters as they were in Winners and Sinners, it definitely has all the same juvenile and comedic tendencies, the Japanese fan support definitely helped this series along. There is also the Hong Kong acting debut of Japanese body-builder Michiko Nishiwaki who has become much popular ever since this film, In a filming technique of director Sammo Hung, Nishiwaki seems unthreatening at first glance but to shed her kimono with her bulky strength, only to reveal her pumped-up large body and face off with Sibelle Hu in a great technique VS Strength fight scene
The main strengths of the film are the fights, although it would not be the same without the comedy, but by stuffing the movie with Hong Kong's most skilled fighters, Hung sets us up a great climax, in which, in addition to Nishiwaki versus Hu, Sammo Hung takes on skilled actor and director Lau Kar Wing like himself, Yuen Biao tackles the promising Lam Ching Ying, and Jackie Chan once again goes against his main foe, the prominent Dick Wei in a great stand off.
It is a great laughter and fun filled action packed bonanza set in Japan, with crazy stunts and comical and tense fight scenes and car stunts. This film truly turned me into a Jackie Chan Fan and I remember the nostalgic music till this day. A great filmed directed by the great Sammo, like many of Jackie's films, its just not stop action and comedy, it leaves you feeling emotional but feeling that you didn't want the movie to end.
The only negative is that the dubbing can get quite bad at times, but it also adds to the comical factor. It's just one of those films that you just can't hate, great classic moments and funny faces all around, not to mention the promising actions and stunts. A great memorable classic with jokes and stunts galore, and I highly recommend it to anyone whose into martial arts and comedy. It's a great buy, and a privilege to own.
Advantages: Funny scene in Japanese Hotel ordering food, and taking advantage of female ICPO agent Disadvantages: none
One of my favourites, the trio are now in Tokyo Japan, Jackie and Yuan, are ICPO agents who are tracking a crime synicate in Tokyo, but Yuan is captured in the beginning in an Amusement park. Jackie therefore calls for reinforcements from his old orphan pal sammo. Sammo is in prison and is set free only to be arrested instantly, and is offered the job, he gathers all of his old friends who are criminals, and they are all set off on a mission with ... ...million hong kong dollars worth of Bonds, and there job is to infiltrate the crime synicate and to help locate their base. overall the movie like always with the trio is filled completely with Slapstick, with some brilliant acting from sammo's gang. A must watch film for all Jackie Chan fans and a great movie for all who are new to the Peking Opera Trio. Filled with original jokes and an original storyline, with ninja's and samurai's. ...

Another collector item for Jacky's fans.
jackie and his muscle fighting partner in many movies (Yuen Biao) show off their kung fu fighting skills in this movie set in japan.
This movie also starring Andy Lau (cute guy) and Michiko Nishiwaki
Michiko Nishiwaki is one of the world's most beautiful women. An actress, martial artist.
She got a black belt in Goju Ryu Karate and is practiced in the art of Chinese Wu Shu, an accomplished gymnast and ... ...and Power lifting Champion. She held these titles for three consecutive years. You will see her in Jackie Chan other movies such as Drunken Master 2' and 'A Nice Guy'.
sammo hung directed this movie, so it can't go wrong. you would love this movie...
this is the sequel to Winners and Sinners, also directed by Sammo Hung, so if you haven't got that one, go out and buy it first. Totally fun and a good movie to watch.
Grab some popcorn and relax! ...

DVD Description
Because the success of the first LUCKY STARS film (WINNERS AND SINNERS) had a lot to do with the Japanese market, the second film in the series takes place in the land of the rising sun and features Michiko Nishiwaki, the Japanese female bodybuilder. Jackie Chan plays an undercover cop who solicits the help of his gang of childhood friends--the five Lucky Stars, each of whom specializes in petty crimes and minor mishaps--to help him catch Japanese gangsters. Dough-faced Eric Tsang replaces John Sham as one of the Lucky Stars, while Sibelle Hu plays the femme du jour and the object of the Lucky Stars' lust. The film features several notable fights, including a surreal sequence in which Chan rumbles in an outlandish amusement park costume; in another memorable fight, director Sammo Hung battles in a yellow jumpsuit, a la Bruce Lee's GAME OF DEATH. The fantastic showdown at a haunted house attraction pits the Lucky Stars against a stellar cast of opponents: Hu versus Nishiwaki, Hung versus Lau Kar-wing, Yuen Biao versus Lam Ching-ying, and Chan versus Dick Wei.
