based on the celebrated novel by Mary O'Hara. Ten-year-old Ken McLaughlin (Roddy McDowall), who lives on the Goose Bar Ranch, desperately wants a colt of his own. Frustrated by the boy's constant daydreaming, Ken's father (Preston Foster) finally lets him choose any horse in the herd. Ken picks a beautiful filly whom he names Flicka, but the high-spirited animal comes from a bad bloodline that's considered to be hopelessly wild. To prove Flicka is worth keeping, and prove himself as a person, Kens sets his heart on winning the horse's confidence and ultimately taming her. Along the way, Ken begins to grow up a little and everyone learns some important lessons, in the poignant tale of love, patience, faith and hope beyond hope.
This is a classic tale of the American plains and one boy's belief in a horse. Ken was ... more

landscapes of Utah, Wyoming and Arizona combine to make these three films classics the whole family will treasure - again and again. My Friend Flicka: Set amid the lush valleys and woods of Wyoming, this heartwarming family drama based on Mary O'Hara's celebrated novel stars Roddy McDowall as a boy who learns about growing up when his father gives him a colt to raise.Thunderhead, Son Of Flicka: Roddy McDowall returns as young Ken McLaughlin, now a young man who decides to train Flicka's beautiful but rambunctious colt, and in the process helps round up stolen horses in the breathtaking wilds of Utah.Green Grass Of Wyoming: Completing the trilogy of Flicka stories, Ken McLaughlin (Robert Arthur) has a new horse named Crown Jewel, whom he hopes can win enough money racing to help his father (Lloyd Nolan) save his ranch.
Advantages: FANTASTIC, best films ive seen in ages Disadvantages: DVD's scratch ver easily :(
I loved the "MyFriendFlicka" book and resently purchased the second and third books of the series; "Thunderhead - Son Of Flicka" and "The Green Grass Of Wyoming." I must say I was hooked
Then about a week ago, I was in HMV and I found "The Flicka Collection Box Set." To begin with I thought that maybe the films would spoil the magic of the books but after careful consideration I finally desided to buy the box set.
Nervously that night I placed the first of the DVD's in the DVD player. I then sat down and watched. WOW! The film was even better than the books. I was mildly disapointed that in places they had left parts out and added bits in. However i was still thrilled that I could now watch my favourite books via DVD. I then over the next few nights I proceded to watch the remaining two. They were fantastic. I definately ...
Advantages: Quality comedy throughout, excellent rom com Disadvantages: Its the opposite idea to Hitch so can seem familiar

-OVERALL-
My Best Friend's Girl is a fun, crude, manly rom com which hilarious parts in it to keep you giggling all the way through. The character of Tank steals the show but does make you think whether the idea came from Hitch. Jason Biggs delivers his normal character type and the late addition of Alec Baldwin as Tanks dad just notches the film back up to crude level when you think its calming down. Get on board and give this one a watch. live the dream ...
Advantages: A nice birthday cake. Disadvantages: The icing plaquard on the top!
to be healthy, after all it is cake, but as a treat it is ideal. For a fan of the show this makes this cake the perfect accessory to a child?s birthday or party .
I?m not sure whether it is due to the credit crunch and this is a gimmic to encourage people to buy these cakes, but just recently I have noticed that with most of these cakes there seem to free gifts with them.
With this particular cake there is a bonus dvd under the cake itself, this features episodes of ?Myfriends T&P? and also Handy Manny and various others from the Playhouse Disney channel, this was a nice touch I think.
As mentioned earlier this was purchased from Asda for around the £7.00 mark. There are around fifty different cakes available to buy, these range from Power Rangers through to Roary the racing car.
