Advantages: Excellent Concept - Big explostions + tongue in cheek? Disadvantages: it’s eerie accuracy of life in the future
....
Anyway… so he goes to a company that specialises in implanting memories. You can choose anything you like e.g. when you wake up you think you’ve just been on a fishing trip to Las Vegas with the Marx brothers.
Lacking imagination Mr Quaid (I shall refer to Mr Schwarzenegger by is character because I don’t want to wear out my keyboard typing his name over and over) chooses a pre-packaged deal… we all know package holiday are never what they advertise but it seems even in the not so distant future people still haven’t learnt.
Mr Quaid as chosen to be a Spy, on Mars, and his leading lady a brunette, cigar smoking hard-core wench with a Magnum that would put Clint Eastwood to shame(I only wish this was a direct quote from the film but alas not).
But things start to go wrong. He wakes up after the implant to find himself in the back of a cab...

Advantages: interesting extras, nice packaging, digitally restored footage Disadvantages: bonus CD mediocre, case could cause disks to scratch
...One of myfavourite bands growing up was Thin Lizzy, so when a DVD was released last year of the original video footage from the concert at London's Rainbow in 1978, remastered with extras and a bonus CD, it was something I had to have!

The latter has some interesting moments which would have benefited from being formatted into chapters.
The DVD comes attractively packaged in a slipcase, and as well as the bonus CD...

Advantages: Great debut for Roger Moore, DVD brimming with extras Disadvantages: No Dolby Digital soundtrack
...remastered. The picture quality matches the rest of the disc and is as clear as a bell with no blocking or fuzziness, given the age of the film. There are 32 chapters, so it's dead easy to find your favourite scenes.

But unfortunately not, so if you are expecting the speedboats to whiz past your heads forget it - they'll growl but not whiz!
However, this is the only flaw in a truly collector's item for any Bond fan. The disc is Region 2 and available for £19.99, and if you love watching Roger...
