Okay, so this film was realeased quite a while back now, but I didn't see it until last Thursday (24th Oct.) A few of my friends had recommended it to me, saying that I would find it extremely funny. One friend had even been to see it twice, she had enjoyed it that much. I didn't know much about it before I saw it. Just that it was a comedy about a woman with a Greek family, marrying a Non-Greek man.

Nia Varalos - Toula Portokalos John Corbett - Ian Miller Michael Constantine - Gus Portokalos Lainie Kazan - Maria Portokalos
>>The Plot<<
Toula is a frumpy, 30-year-old, who is still not married - to the discust of her father, Gus. She works as a waitress in her parent's Greek restaurant, Dancing Zorba's. Deciding that her life must change, she starts taking a course in computers and changes her appearance. Landing herself a job in her Aunt's travel agency, she meets Ian Miller - a tall, handsome teacher, who is far from Greek. Toula and Ian fall in love and it's time for them to meet each other's parents. Gus is outraged that his daughter is dating a non-Greek and tries to convince Toula to stop seeing him. Of course 'Love' is a tough thing to break, and the couple end up engaged. Will the wedding go ahead???
>>Info<<
The film was actually written by Nia Vardolos (Toula), although I don't believe she has tried too hard to revolve it around here character. It was directed by Joel Zwick, with Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson on the production team.
>>Opinion<<
I thought 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' was a wonderful film, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was funny throughout and hysterical in parts. My favourite character was Gus, who in my eyes stole the show. His comic timing was brilliant, and his insistence that 'Everything comes from Greece' had me in stitches. I also thought Louis Mandylor as Toula's brother Nick, was very good. For those *NSync fans out there, Joey Fatone has a small part as Toula's cousin and is actually rather good!! It's hard to say much else, without ruining it for you, but if you fancy a good laugh - I recommend watching it.
