X-men super heroes!
Review of X-Men 1.5/X-Men 2 DVD by splatman2000

Advantages: Great films great action sequences
Disadvantages: a few of the cartoons charectors were missing

...The X-men are a group of the most legondary and famous super heroes ever. X-men 1.5 has some extra footage and some bounus material that was never origonally in the version released at the cinema. This is great as it gives a slight bit of extra knowledge to the stories and shows you more about what is happening. X-men 1.5. The world is being divided into two very different groups those that are 'normal' and those that are evolving mutants. These mutants all have individual and extrordinary abbilities, however there are two groups of people the X-men those that wish to use their powers for the greater good of humanity to help the planet. Lead by Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) the x-men are the same as the comics Storm, cyclops, Jean Grey and of course wolverine. They are against Magnetos group those that would kill humans to defend... Read review

X Men 3: On Last Legs
Review of X-Men - The Last Stand (Special Edition) by bilbob20

Advantages: Entertaining enough
Disadvantages: A bit disappointing

...their uniqueness to become human. X-Men and X-2 were superior films in every way, this one relying on run of the mill battle sequences that leave you a bit cold. There is no question that the cast fit into their mutants suits beautifully now, each one so familiar it would be hard to imagine them in any other role, but it doesn't deviate from the fact that the film is an empty vessel that lacks the soul of the first two installments. Perhaps the exit of Bryan Singer (who was away doing other superhero turkey of the year "Superman Returns") is the reason, but given his own aforementioned product's emptiness and plodding reliance on how it looks, I would suggest that the mutants have ran their course, and anything after X-2 was never going to be worth the bother. That said, it isn't a complete let down. There is plenty of entertainment on show... Read review

One Stand, One Chance & One Failure
Review of X-Men - The Last Stand DVD by Nathan_Innit

Advantages: A classic franchise and the special effects
Disadvantages: Very disappointing end to the trilogy

...to nothing about X-Men did NOT affect my enjoyment of the film. In that sense though if you are a fan of the comic book you will be watching the film for every detail, and that knowledge of X-Men could come back to bite you as I have heard from comic book readers that this third film and the climax to the first trilogy is actually the worst of the lot. Should you watch X-Men 1 and 2 before viewing this film? X1 and X2 set things up for X3 and to fully appreciate X3 you will have to see these first two films. There's no ifs and buts about it really, I don't think X3 or 'Last Stand' works as a stand alone film. The main focus of the film is the US Government having used a mutant (who's power is to disable other mutants powers) have developed a 'Cure' for mutants. Whilst there is protests that there is nothing that needs curing, there is one... Read review
