Guitars, Drums and 'Cunning Stunts'

Advantages: Metallica doing what they do best

Metallica normally need very little introduction. Most people will have at least heard of them, if not having actually listened to their music. One of the heaviest, biggest and most successful heavy metal bands of all time, Metallica have been playing for well over two decades now. They've done everything from recording classic metal albums, (e.g. 'Master Of Puppets', 'The Black Album'), to releasing their own Rockumentry movie, ('Some Kind Of Monster'). ...

From a musical perspective the group are tight, with Lars and Jason providing a stable frame which James' rhythm playing enforces and allows Kirk to launch into his solos. Metallica Classics DVD The Black Album

Advantages: Good to see the making of he album
Disadvantages: not as interesting as a year and a half in the life of

This DVD is good, but if you really want the full experience of the black album then i would suggest buying a year and a half in the life of.. as this is basically where this dvd got its stock footage from. but it is interesting to see what the band have to say looking back on the songs and cutting them up showing all the different layers that went into the the tracks and different guitar parts. such as the funny "u2" bits in Sad but True, and it ...

Advantages: Great watch even for a non Metallica fan.
Disadvantages: May be a little long for some people.

Like you've never seen him before

Advantages: Inside look at would have been the greatest concert ever
Disadvantages: Would have been amazing to see it all pulled together in one final rehersal.

...a life long fan of Michael Jackson, there was never any question as to whether I would see this film or not, more a case of when I would see it. Me, my cousin and my little sister decided to go see this on Sunday, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this film (even if my 14 year old sister asked me what it was about when we sat down - I had to alugh, bless her!), which was only ever meant for Michael Jackson's archives for personal viewing.
