The sun'll come out tomorrow.... Advantages: The songs Disadvantages: corny in places Annie is an orphan who tries to escape from the orphanage time and time again due to the horrid orphanage owner. One day Annie get's chosen to live with a millionaire 'Daddy Warbuck'. She is treated like a Princess but Annie has this dream of finding her mother and father so escapes from his home too. Daddy Warbucks decides to place a ad on the local radio for Annie's sake encouraging anyone who knows the whereabouts of her parents to come forward ... ...that she is there's. Will Annie find her real parents? If you aren't a fan of musicals then this one is definitely not for you. At every whip stick the cast burst into song and sing their little hearts out. I'm not really into musicals as such but the songs featured in the film are so well known that I can't help but sing along and tap my foot as if I'm enjoying myself. A Razzle Dazzle of a Film! Advantages: Great story, acting, song and dancing Disadvantages: None from me ...some good press to make Chicago fall in love with Roxie to get her off the murder charge. Just how will Velma take the lack of cooperation from her lawyer now he has anew client and will Roxie ever fulfil her dream of being big on stage? I really did not know what to expect from this film as it stars three big actors but all of whom I have never head sing or watched dance so for me it was a nice surprise. I found Renee Zellweger who played the role ... ...set in the 1920’s in Chicago and this is very apparent from the costumes and sets which have been used. I found it all looked very real and authentic for this year and I loved seeing how different everything was back then. I did however find that at times it was quite dark and just wished we could have seen more of the film shot in the daytime. Nine, Nein! Advantages: Excellent cast, wonderful acting, amazing scenes, musical numbers Disadvantages: Boring, really really boring. ...What's it about? Nine is about a self-centred Italian film director, Guido Contini, who is having trouble finding inspiration for his new movie 'Italia'. He looks to the many women in his life for ideas on what to base his latest film on. He is in the midst of a mid-life crisis and can't seem to find a balance between his personal life and his working life with his ego getting in the way. No-Man in concert an experience not to be missed! Advantages: A great live DVD for lovers of crafted, beautiful music. Disadvantages: Not long enough! No-Man are (currently) Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson, a UK duo who have an occasional recording partnership that spans over 20 years. I only came to listen to them fairly recently, about three years ago I think, when a friend gave me a couple of their CDs to listen to as I had at that time become a fan of one of Steven Wilson's other projects, Porcupine Tree. Since then they have been elevated to be one of my favourite bands ever, for their creativity, ... ...with one of my favourite no-man songs, "Only Rain", from the 2001 album Returning Jesus. Classical violinist Steve Bingham layers loops of violin harmonising with each other, perfectly complementing Tim Bowness' sung verses.
