All-Black Version Of Wizard Of Oz

Advantages: The array of legendary stars
Disadvantages: Too much schmaltz!

The Wiz (1978) was a hip, modernised, all-black version of L. Frank Baum's famous fantasy, adventure story, The Wonderful Wizard Of (first published at the dawn of the century). We all know of course that the best version of this famous childrens story will forever be the delightful Judy Garland classic of 1939. Concert for George

Advantages: Excellent musical tribute concert
Disadvantages: absent friends

Excellent Concert held in November 2002 one year after George Harrison's untimely death. Disc One is the complete concert featuring an all star band including Eric Clapton; Ravi & Anoushka Shankar; Billy Preston; Joe and Sam Brown; Jools Holland; fellow ex-Beatles Ringo Starr & Paul McCartney; Travelling Wilburys Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty and Dhani Harrison, looking very much like his father in the 1960s. ...in my Dreams closes the show. The disc is easy to navigate allowing access to individual songs. Disc Two has the Theatrical Version of the concert along with band rehearsals, Monty Python backstage and interviews with many of the musicians. Oasis and Blur in crap performance shock!

Advantages: Less than a tenner for some corking performances
Disadvantages: Some duff tracks

Advantages: Fascinating insight into Bowie's work
Disadvantages: Probably not for newcomers to Bowie

Fantastic film anyone would have to enjoy it!!

Advantages: Everything, sheer masterpiece!
Disadvantages: Non apart from the fact it made me cry!

In my opinion this film is fantastic. It is a classic tearjerker with lots of fun and exciting elements to it. I feel this film can appeal to absolutley anyone as the story is fantastic and the actors are vibrant and gorgeous (for both the men and the women!).
