Advantages: It's Yes with Rick Wakemen
Disadvantages: sound quality dvd only 60 mins

Great, a DVD of Yes with the classic line-up, with the exception of drummer Bill Bruford, who I think was with King Crimson at the time. The main problem with this DVD is it's only 60 mins long and the sound quality is a bit like a copy from a VHS. Still, apart from all that we do get to see and hear yes performing in Philadelphea, USA in 1979. ...into its' own with Starship Trooper, which has what can only be described as a contest between Steve Howe on guitar and Rick Wakeman on a portable keyboard instrument. This a definite plus point of this DVD. I've Seen All Good People and Roundabout follow and are perfomed equally well. What a shame the DVD is so short. (A bit like this review, I suppose). ... A bit of backstory first... Me and my other half often disagree and bicker about the movies we see. I asked - "there's that adaption of the West End show with all the Abba songs in it." ...and one of these was Mamma Mia. I had wanted to see it at the cinema but never got around to it, so I got it for myself for a treat with an Amazon voucher when it first came out. I never managed to see it, so was determined to do so at Christmas! Well, I've been so tired every evening that I've been in bed too early to watch a film, but tonight I put it on at 8pm as I really wanted to see the bloomin' thing at last! And was it worth the wait? ...the film, from title song Mamma Mia, to Dancing Queen, to lesser known Honey, Honey and Slipping Through my Fingers which was an amazing emotional performance from Meryl Streep...I was welling up throughout that song! It modernises the classic hits but keeps the feeling of nostalgia, and you just cannot stop yourself singing along because its so catchy!
