Keeping Freddie's memory alive

Advantages: The biggest names in music contribute, money goes to AIDS charities
Disadvantages: A bit boring in places, some questionable performances

...Stadium to pay tribute to Freddie Mercury who died of AIDS on 24th November 1991. It's embarassing to admit, but because I'm only 19 now, a lot of the artists on the video I didn't know when I first bought it, and admittedly some of them now I'm still not that familiar with (although a lot more familiar than other people my age I'd guess) Because it's so long, you're not going to want to watch it all at once, unless you really have nothing else ...
...be pretty amazing to rival Freddie Mercury's vocal range and performance talent. Some tried, some failed, and some just did their own versions of the songs. In my opinion, George Michael gives one of the best performances, he sings "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" with Lisa Stansfield and rocks out "Somebody To Love" perfectly, getting all the audience going, I can only imagine what it'd be like to have seen him perform this live. Welcome To The Videos

Advantages: great music videos, like 'November Rain', 'Don't Cry' and 'Paradise City'.
Disadvantages: No extras. A few videos missing that I feel should have been on it.

Review of Guns 'n' Roses - Welcome To The Videos (DVD)

G n' R - Use Your Illusion tour...fantastic!

Advantages: Brilliant performance plus a wide variety of songs.
Disadvantages: Have to buy Use Your Illusion I to get the full concert experience.

...because I am a big Guns n' Roses fan and I'd say that this is a must for any other fans out there. The DVD shows the second part of a gig they did in Japan, as part of their Use Your Illusion tour in 1992/93. (I would recommend buying this DVD alongside the Use Your Illusion I DVD so that you get the full experience of the concert). They play a lot of songs from their Use Your Illusion double albums as well as playing classics from their Appetite for Destruction album, such as Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle. Advantages: Fascinating insight into Bowie's work
Disadvantages: Probably not for newcomers to Bowie

Review of David Bowie - Inside David Bowie 1969 To 1974 (Limited Edition) (+Book) (DVD)

Fantastic film anyone would have to enjoy it!!

Advantages: Everything, sheer masterpiece!
Disadvantages: Non apart from the fact it made me cry!

In my opinion this film is fantastic. It is a classic tearjerker with lots of fun and exciting elements to it. I feel this film can appeal to absolutley anyone as the story is fantastic and the actors are vibrant and gorgeous (for both the men and the women!).
