St. Louis

Advantages: Good music
Disadvantages: Story line not too strong

An epic about a loveable family living in St. Louis and moving away. The family are quite well off and spend a lot of time together. The news of moving shocks the family and as the story unravels it emotionally taxes the viewer. The filming and acting is impecable and cannot be faulted. There are no special effects, but these are not needed for the realism of the film. The girls of the family all have there own story within the story that are followed. ...
...happens and would be better if more focused on one thing. The music is of a high standard, especially the chorus numbers such as the trolley song. It is a good musical which has an amiable story line. It does not necessarily a timeless piece but is a nice watch to use as a calm afternoon. ...

Moulin rouge is a musical admirers dream

Advantages: Great chemistry between main characters ,feel good film .
Disadvantages: The singing throughout the film can get a bit tiresome

In my opinion you must see the film if you like musicals, otherwise you might find the singing a bit off putting .At times the siniging can seem a bit over the top but in general this is what makes the film interesting.It is worth watching just to see the on screen chemistry between Ewan Mcgregor and Nicole Kidman they are a great pairing and seem to have good on screen presence allowing you to follow the romantic tale which is played out . Advantages: It's raw, it's real and it provides great insight into the band
