JOSH AT HIS BEST
Review of Josh Groban In Concert (+CD) by kezzan

Advantages: Not only do you get a concert on DVD but also a CD of live performances
Disadvantages: The concert finished too quickly

...Its fair to say that Josh Groban has not been adequately promoted in the UK, but If like me you first noticed Josh and his voice through his guest appearances on popular tv show Ally McBeal you will not be dissapointed by this DVD. Josh grabs the audience's attention and you are mesmerised throughout the 90 minute show. His performance of the wonderful tracks "You're still you", "Let me Fall", "To where you are" and my particular favourite "Broken ...
...after of the concert from Josh and his family and friends. All this and a CD of live performances from the concert.. What more could you ask for? I would highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates Josh and his talent. If you are a fan of G4 or Il Divo this is the DVD for you too. ... Read review

A feast of music
Review of Alanis Morissette - Feast On Scraps (DVDand CD) (Wide Screen) by ryanando

Advantages: Amazing music and a dvd to entertain you
Disadvantages: Sound quality of the concert footage isn't too great

...all very different from what Alanis has done in the past but it is very clear how she has gotten to where she is. Call me crazy but when you listen to an artists collection from start to end, I like to see some sort of progression and evolution. Alanis Morissette is amazing at evolving and changing. Unlike other artists she does this smoothley and naturally over the years. She doesn't go from black eye liner and guitars to bubble gum and pony tails ...
...great collection of interviews with Alanis over the years, concert footage, songs and a lot of laughs. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of is that occasionally the dvd would flip between concerts and music videos mid song. I loved seeing the concerts, and I loved hearing the music, but the huge change in quality of sound was a tad distracting. Still an amazing look into her musical career and any fan of Alanis will love it. Definatley one to add ... Read review

Mamma Mia! How could I resist you?
Review of Mamma Mia! DVD by jeaniecz

Advantages: funny, ful of energy and the great timeless ABBA songs
Disadvantages: bit too silly in places, no really surprising plot turns

...elsewhere, but here in Prague Mamma Mia! has become a symbol of this summer, full of fun, dancing and singing, love, sun, friends, joy and happy ends. It was my first time that sitting in the cinema I would feel all the ppl there shared sth and created such a happy and cheerful atmosphere like this time when everybody sang along to the songs. Cast Meryl Streep - Donna Amanda Seyfried - Sophie Pierce Brosnan - Sam Colin Firth - Harry Stellan ...
...I think her performance of Mamma Mia! was the best song in the whole movie and the little show she gave with Christine Baranski and Julie Walters as The Dynamos was sheer fun, without any depth, but fun. As Streep herself said: "I'm really doing this to embarass my 20-sth-year-old children. The dancing will mortify them and they'll have to move to Alaska or some place like that." Streep's duet of The Winner Takes It All with Pierce Brosnan felt a ... Read review

A musical extravaganza
Review of The Phantom Of The Opera DVD by carla33

Advantages: A brilliant version for all the family
Disadvantages: You end u singing to yourself for days

...yuorself for days. Something all the family can enjoy as it holds a cast of so many well known names, including Gerard Butler (Tomb raider-cradle of life and 300). Minnie Driver (The riches). It's always good to see a musical that everyone can enjoy and not just your avid theatre goers. Music, dance and costumes a delight, as well as a few chuckles and a few tears, this is one toenjoy and keep so that you can watch it over and over again. A great ...
