Advantages: Good extras Disadvantages: None of any importance
...The film follows the eponymous band in their dutch and US concerts and in their hometown of Santiago. The film is an elegant mix of music, interviews and Cuban scenery. The photography is vivid and beautiful, and the transfer to DVD is crisp. The image seems at time unprecise but that is due to the fact that portions of it were shot on video not on film. The deleted scene added is not really that interesting (an edited version of it is in the film) but Win Wenders commentary is one of the most interesting I've ever heard. It adds a great deal of information on the musicians and the setting with a minimal amount of technical information that only budding film makers would be interested in....

Advantages: Good animation Disadvantages: Not a lot of dancing
...This is the story of Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker' featuring Barbie as the lead character. The makers have done a good job telling the story in a way that young children can understand.
The story is a classic and the music is excellent. The animation is good but not on a par with other recent animated films.
I bought this DVD for my two young nieces who are learning ballet and are huge Barbie fans. Having bought this DVD in large part because of the descriptions of the dancing on the case I was very disappointed by the small amount of dancing that is actually in the film. The dancing scenes that there are look attractive but they are very brief and the majority of the story is not told to music.
I would recommend this DVD to true Barbie fans but anyone else may not enjoy it.
Also, although my older niece was all right with the film...

...change when Van gives him a helping hand?
The soundtrack is fantastic, particularly the 'Jimmy Eat World' track. Real American cheerful music to do the cleaning to! Heavy on the drums and guitar!
This is a single disc DVD with a running time of 89 minutes. It is certified 15. The DVD extras include interviews [which are nothing special] and some quite amusing deleted scenes.
I would thoroughly recommend this film to anyone who enjoyed American Pie or Eurotrip. There are some fantastic one-liners and slap-stick humour as well as some truly disgusting, but hilarious scenes, which make you cring with the sheer awfulness of what is on your screen!...
