Music from another room was a dvd which I discovered in my local library and which I decided to watch on a Saturday night when my other half had gone down to the pub and I was in on my own with the wine and chocolates.

The Plot

Music from another room is a romantic comedy, the film begins with Danny visiting his father's friends for thanksgiving and the next door neighbour (an old family friend) Grace Swann goes into labour and as a five year old boy he helps deliver her baby girl, who Grace names Anna, from that moment Danny believes that he is destined to marry the beautiful baby girl that he helped deliver.

All this is forgotten as Danny moves away to London and twenty-five years later he returns to his hometown after his fathers death. He finds Anna Swann, as beautiful as he imagined her to be and irrestible to him also.

To Danny's dismay on his return he finds that Anna is engaged to be married which upsets him but he begins to help Anna look after her sick mother and her sister Nina who is blind and frightened of the outside world because of her blindness.

Anna has changed over the years she has become a cold hearted person and so has her fiancé so this is why Danny tries to win her round by helping out with the family, this bit in the film is quite sad as Anna does not believe all this destiny and fate nonsense, so Danny has to try and win her around, all this while her siblings (be warned Karen (Anna's sister is an angry feminist) and her horrid fiancé are putting up barriers for him to overcome and try to win the whole family round as well as Anna.

So does Danny finally win Anna around………………..well I will not spoil it for you and let you watch this beautiful and charming romantic comedy.

This DVD is a region 2 DVD, it has no special features and no commentaries, and it is just simply the film on the DVD.

The classification is 12

The film was written and directed by Charlie Peters (he also wrote the screen play for Three Men and a Little Lady)

The running time is 100 mins approximately

The film was made in 1998 but was brought out on DVD in 2005.
I don't ever recall this film being on the pictures but as it was eight years ago I cant really remember, if I am wrong please correct me.

The soundtrack of the film also features 'Truly, Madly Deeply' from Savage Garden aswell as many other songs.

Overall Opinion

Overall I really enjoyed this film, I think it is more of a chick film as it has an underlying love story in it. Even though this film was good I don't think I would purchase it as it wasn't that enjoyable it was just a nice dvd to watch while the other half was out, but if I could get a copy for under £5 I would just buy it to keep in my collection.

Also, if you like Jude Law I would watch this film as he plays Danny brilliantly and this is a chance to see Jude in one of his lesser-known films

I would give this film 5 out of 5 as the acting and the overall plot was brilliant and certainly kept me entertained on a lonely Saturday night.
