Midsomer Murders (Box Set) You're not always safer in the country

Advantages: Easy to watch and very entertaining
Disadvantages: Could become repetitive?

of Box Set One The Killings at Badger's Drift Badgers Drift was the pilot and what a way to start. An old lady is found dead in her cottage. No-one can understand why as she was a lovely lady who kept herself to herself. The only indication that the viewer gets is that at the start of the episode she witnesses something unsettling in the woods. Written in Blood Midsomer Worthy is the setting for this gruesome murder. The victim is Gerald Hadleigh, the secretary of the writers circle. All is not how it first appears as the plot unfolds Barnaby and Troy discover this man had no formal identification. Pieces

Advantages: Alright slasher
Disadvantages: It's been done before. Lynda Day

It's 1942 a young boy is playing peacefully I his bedroom. However, somehow it's a jigsaw of a naked woman he has and his mother is annoyed at discovering this and finding heaps of pornography hidden all over his bedroom. She demands that he goes and gets her the matches so she can burn it all but the weird child being a true blue porn fan instead gets an axe and brutally, albeit very unrealistically, kills his mother. He is then found in the blood covered room after cutting her into several pieces. Many years later and we have a random scene of a woman skating about on some University grounds before she crashes into two men carrying a mirror across a road. That scene seems pointless and is forgotten. But then another young woman is sitting on the lawn reading her book when she is disturbed by a man with a chainsaw cutting ...

Pieces of a jigsaw

Advantages: Great entertainment, hilarious!
Disadvantages: Not sure it's supposed to be funny!

Riggs for no apparent reason, then stops when he realises she is with Kendall, and apologises by saying he must have eaten bad chop suey. Bizarre, but really quite funny. There is a rating of 18 on the film, and this is for a good reason - there are very graphic images of the deaths, with blood spurting everywhere and bodies being chopped into pieces. They are not the best special effects - the blood is way too red for a start, particularly when we see a pair of shoes that the murdered woman in the forties had been wearing - the blood was still as red as it had been when she was dying. However, I can quite imagine that those uninitiated into horror films would find it difficult to watch, so be warned! There is also a lot of nudity, mainly female, but enough to tick off the easily offended. The quality of the DVD is not brilliant and is ...
