"Main Title/The Ark" is serious sci-fi stuff--heavenly choir, huge crescendos and a theremin. This is no ordinary Muppets album. Right up to the most recent (Muppet Treasure Island), you'd have got what you'd expect--a song-full laugh-fest. Sharifi's score is by and large a straight-faced affair. With a couple of militaristic touches thrown in by Rupert Gregson-Williams (the excellent "Singer's Theme"), it's more like a movie trip on the Starship Enterprise. That's until "Fanatics for Aliens" introduces a lounge jazz mood replete with saxophone and moog synth to remind you that we're in the company of the kooky glove puppets after all. With "Piggy & the MIBs" there's a trace of Carter Burwell's Conspiracy Theory conveying the secret agency's cool, while "The Ship's Arrive" owes plenty to Alan Silvestri's The Abyss. These and a few other "homages" are the only cute aspects of an otherwise remarkably rousing score. --Paul Tonks

Before I begin, I feel the need to mention that I am a complete and utter muppet so this opinion should be a good one for me...
I had a great day in town today, (It was Saturday when I wrote this!) I went shopping bought a CD and some other stuff and then my mate and I couldn't decide what to do next...
No doubt, judging what this opinion is about you will know what we did, well kind of anyway! We decided to go back to mine for a change, (we usually go back to hers!) and we noticed that 'Muppets From Space' was on the TV at quarter past 5, the time being 10 past 5 was very handy, after she had gabbled on about how good the film was (She went to see it at the cinema!) we both sat down and watched it.
As the film began, one by one people joined us....
First my little 6 yr old sister, she noticed Kermit the frog and sat down with us both to watch the flik!
Then came my other sister who too noticed the cool characters and then lastly came in MUM, yes my MUM!
We all watched the film and here's what we all thought about it, but put together into 1 opinion written by myself...

The storyline is all about Gonzo who is on the search for his family, all the other muppets have pictures and memories of there past relatives, Gonzo sadly has nothing, he came from space and since he has been having some weird dreams about being the lonely one, he decides after recieving a message via his 'Alphabet' cereal saying, 'WATCH THE SKY' to go looking for his family.
He begins by sitting on the roof of the muppet mansion staring at the sky, everyone thinks Gonzo has lost the plot and they all feel sorry for him but sure enough Gonzo gets struck by lightning and taken into space, he then gets told what to do next.
Back on Earth where Gonzo finds himself the next day, he must follow his instructions to make contact with his family, he makes comunication by writing with a lawn mower in the grass.
Now the Government get involved, thinking that there could be alien life elsewhere or on Earth, they want to get hold of Gonzo so they can proove there theories. They capture the weird creature who is supposedly from space and its up to the rest of the muppets and Gonzos clever thinking to find his alien family.
They all work as a team bringing comedy, stupidness and touching 'muppet' moments! This film is for the family, the kids love it, the adults try not to laugh but end up in hysterics and the tough teenagers get a laugh out of this too! Do they or don't they find Gonzos family....?
That you will have to find out by watching the movie...!
This film isn't all muppet mania though, there are real humans and actors starring, as the dumb security guard we have Hulk Hogan and another security guard is played by Ray Liotta, we also have David Arquette as the mad scientist. We even have two well known 'Dawson Creek' stars involved at the end, Katie Holmes who is Joey in Dawsons Creek and the lusious Joshua Jackson who is Pacey.
I've briefly expalined the storyline and the main actors and characters, I hope I've given you all the relative info on that part of the film, other useful information is that the film is a 'U' (Universal) certificate meaning that is a film for everyone, I recommend it as a family flik. It is 1hr and 20 minutes long and time whizzes by, it seems like an extra long program and not a film!
Overall the Muppets have definitely been sucessful once again! I loved this film and if it's on again I'll probably watch it, I hope another film with them in is on its way! I love the Muppets! Cheers everyone for reading, hope I've helped, ~M~ :0)

...loving oddment called Gonzo.
Muppets in Space concentrates on Gonzos inherant seperation from his muppet pals, caused by the fact that he has never met anyone of his own species, he isn't even sure if he HAS a species, and the events surrounding his attempts to decifer a message he reveives in typical surreal muppet style.
To outline the plot and mention specific incidences would detract from the joy of experiancing this film for yourself, (and ... ...of warm unique humour the Muppets have delivered for so many years.
Like most Muppet films, adults, children and family pets will enjoy this film equally. It has a few sideswipes at the SciFi genre, but rises above spoofness with touching performances from rodents, aliens, frogs , pigs , eagles, bears and big scary blue things.
I like the Muppets, watch this, then rent out all the other muppet films, then buy the original series on video, then ...

...the ad’s are finished and Muppets from Space is just starting. I smiled at my bloke and we decided to sit through what was to be one of the funniest children’s films ever.
Now I have to admit that there is quite a lot of nostalgia involved. One of my earliest memories is of watching the Muppet show on a Friday night with my dad, whilst my mum was at the Bingo. I remember that I had to go to bed straight afterwards so it shows how young ... ...THERE?”.
All the other Muppets think he is going mad, but he is convinced that he should watch the sky and see what happens.
He sits on the roof for a while, and is then hit by a bolt of lightening, that sends him flying into outer space. He is met by Two Flying Space Fish ( taken any illegal substances recently Mr Henson?).
They inform him the he must cut his lawn, and spell out a message that is visible in outer space to make contact with ...

...When I was little, the Muppets used to make me howl with laughter and I still love them to this day! I remember the Muppet Show with guest stars like Billy Connelly and John Cleese. It was great. When I went on holiday to Disney in Florida, we went to see a 3D Muppet Show that was in an actual theatre! How cool was that?!?
Being faithful to my other film reviews, I shall of course start of with another opinion!

Muppets in Space has a U (universal) certificate, suitable for anybody of any age to watch.
Running time: 84 minutes. Not too long but about average for a Muppet movie.
A Jim Henson production teamed with Columbia Pictures.
I will be talking about the VHS version of the film (and II have no ideas as to whether or not this is a DVD), which can be bought from all the usual places...HMV, WHSmiths and the like for around £7.99

Muppets From Space" is a funny film, but it lacks the passion that the previous Muppet films contained. The movie is charming, and has many new of the new Muppets that were introduced in "Muppets Tonight," including my favorite: Pepe, the Hispanic king prawn.
The title is rather misleading, as it is not a Star Wars-like Muppet adventure through the galaxy, but an explanation about what Gonzo actually is. We enter the lives of the Muppets as they ... ...a Brickhouse." All of the Muppets live in the same house and live in a family-like environment with Kermit as the head of the household. The trouble begins when Gonzo's cereal starts to talk communicate with him, asking him "R U There?" This sends Gonzo on a personal odyssey to discover the true nature of his origins. Is he just a wacky "whatever," or is he actually an alien from another planet? As with most Muppet movies, real actors only make brief ...

...was a convert to the muppets rather late in life, at least later than my contemporaries but up until now the standard of the Muppet films from Henson productions has been very high with plenty of wacky commedy. However, I have to say that I fell asleep in the cinema during this latest production Muppets from Outer Space. Its just a rag bag collection of predictable jokes spun together with a very weak story line. There is not really much else one ...

One of the better Muppet features in recent years, MUPPETS FROM SPACE begins with Gonzo wondering where he came from and then promptly receiving messages from his alien brethren. Though the rest of the Muppet clan believe Gonzo insane, especially after he announces his revelation on Mrs. Piggy's talk show, he arouses the interest of an idiotic government official, which leads to his imprisonment. Kermit reluctantly realizes Gonzo is in trouble and brings his fellow Muppets to try and help him escape. This one features a soundtrack made up of mostly 70s funk and introduces a new Muppet - Pepe the prawn, who gets quite a few laughs here.
