Advantages: Thought Provoking Disadvantages: Very long
...Early in the morning of the 5th September 1972, Palestinian terrorists broke into the athlete's village at the MunichOlympics. The terrorist group known as Black September stormed the Israeli apartments, took 9 hostages, and shot two men dead. Whilst the games went on around them, the terrorists demanded the release of hundreds of prisoners from Israeli jails as well as the release of two Germans being held in Germany. Israel refused to bend to the demands and later that night the remaining hostages were all killed in a bungled rescue bid held at Munich airport.
This event happened many years before I was born, but the shock of it has meant that it has never been forgotten. I first became aware of the events of that night whilst watching the brilliant documentary, 'One Day in September' that I saw on a flight to South Africa. Other...

Advantages: NON POLITICAL Disadvantages: RUBBISH ACTING
...Sunday afternoon weather outside is terrible and I am getting over a bad cold so I decided to watch Munich the dvd. I had high hopes for this DVD prior to viewing having read a book about the Munich massacre and seen the excellent documentary One Day in September 1999. However I was very disappointed by the film, which tells of the massacre of eleven Israeli athletes in the Olympic games in Munich in 1972, which is the factual part of the film and The Israel government's response to the massacre, which is considered to be part fiction/part fact.
The actual fact of the kidnap and massacre of the athletes is told in various flashbacks throughout the film, which I thought was a major fault of the film. The kidnapping and massacre of the athletes should have been shown at the start of the film as anyone unfamiliar with the story...

...I really like this DVD, bought mine last year. Basically, I am a fan of any special forces that exist in the world and my favorite would be the SAS (Special Air Service). Inside the DVD, they will reveal all the tricks of the trade including the five S's of camouflage: shape, shine, shadow, silhouette and spacing. From surviving hostage situations to coping with brutal interrogations and torture the team show off their skills. Find out how to set up a covert observation post, learn the secrets of firepower tactics or just pick up some tips on how to escape and how to evade the enemy.I also like the style they make this story, using a series of mini-dramas and reconstructions on the ins and outs of survival techniques taught to the elite group, which to me, seems really realistic.
For those who bought this DVD, I would also recommend...
