It may only have been two years since the first installment of The Mummy but, in movie time, 10 years have passed.
The Mummy Returns sees Brendan Fraser, John Hannah and Rachel Weisz reunited to fight another Eqyptian battle! A decade later and Mummy hero Rick 'O' Connell, played by Brendan Fraser, has married his lover in the first film Evie, played by Rachel Wiesz, who is also a Mummy - to their son Alex that is.
However just as life is beginning to settle down for them, disaster strikes and the presumed-dead Imhotep and his lover Anck-Su-Namun rise up again.
This film had a huge budget as many people will be able to tell as the film-makers have gone overboard offering a vast array of special effects and ghoulish surprises.
John Hannah returns as Evie's brother and that alone will please many film fans! Also the World Wrestling Federation's very own 'The Rock' makes his big screen debut as The Mummy's new found ally 'The Scorpion King' and surprisingly carries it off well.
One of the memorable moments in The Mummy Returns is a thrilling catfight between Weisz and Velasque, the Mummy's girlfriend.
At the end of the day, if you liked the first film you will love this, because in my opinion The Mummy Returns definently lives up to it's predecessor!!
