When I refer to proper Mr Bean I am of course talking about Rowna Atkinson's smash hit comedy sitcom in the 90's which followed a dry and whimsical character make a complete mess of very simple everyday activities like a trip to the swimming pool, parking his car, or visiting the cinema.
Personally I love the original ... ...has ruined the image of Mr Bean for me. At first I was curious and quite excited - I had hoped the comedy would be on the same lines as the original but I was wrong.
The soundtrack is mostly orchestral with symbols, drums and flutes to emphasise dramtic turn arounds and Beans thoughts. The vocals, as the televised original series is basically mumbles and whimpers with the odd 'ooooo' sound. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that ... more

Personally I love the original Mr Bean, although some detest his bumbling foolish nature, I find him entertaining on a unique scale. Maybe it's because a part of me feels sorry for him or that in some cercumstances it is really quite ingenuis how you can get make some of the simplest tasks a complete disaster.
However the animated series proved to be a complete let down and has ruined the image of Mr Bean for me. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that they have tried to modernise him and have given him a girl friend, not that that ever get together, lord no, what would happen to teddy, where would he sleep!? Irma Gobb is more a romantic interst whom Bean tries to impress, but rarely suceeds.
In this single DVD volume you get 8 episodes, each lasting about 15minutes in length and include; 'In The Wild', 'Missing Teddy', 'No Parking', 'Bean's Bounty', 'The Fly', 'Artful Bean', 'Mime Games' and 'Spring Clean' where Bean makes housework very hard work. Painful to sit through and I've not watched it since. The comedy is obviously aimed at little kids, most of it being stupidly simple, slapstick, or distasteful toilet humour. This wasn't the original Mr Bean's style and although having Teddy as a main charcter, it still doesn't appeal to me. COST: £9.99 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Blockbuster CERTIFICATE: U NUMBER OF DISCS: 1
Overall I can only give a 3 star rating, it's not suitable for adult viewing, or I might say judging by the children I've spoken to, anyone over the age of 7. The humour isn't funny and viewing it just makes you cringe. Why 3 stars you may ask, well the soundtrack is quite good, the instrumental composition is done well despite being ruined by vocals. Also it might be worth buying, especially if you have young children who actually like it. However i do feel there is only a limited market for this product. Lets hope they dont bring out another series to clutter or screens with. Thankyou very much for reading, wishing you all the best, mintz x x x
Advantages: very funny Disadvantages: can get you hooked for hours
I love mr bean and since his animated series started ive been hooked.
The adventures mr bean has with his teddy, the amount of times he always runs the same car off the road, the little robin reliant.
one is saw the other day, he invited his lady friend round for chicken and chips, prepared everything, put the chicken on the baking tray, peeled the potatoes and got a tennis racket, hit the chopping board so the potatoes flew into the air and chopped ... ...oven.
But of course mr bean fell asleep!!
Urma arrived and was ringing and ringing the bell, mr bean was dreaming of a giant chicken ringing on his door bell, then he woke up realising he had dropped the alarm clock into the bath.
He jumped out the bath ran in the kitchin, but it was too late the food was burnt.
he went and let urma in and brought he upstairs.
He was running aroung in the kitchin wondering what to do, So he searched his cupboard ...
