I had to buy this as soon as I knew it was released. Having only made 13 episodes you would think it would be easy enough to release the wholebox set as a complete and more cost effective production. But no, because we are english, we are 'rich' and can afford to splash out on the indivual DVD's, and of course we can wait whilst each is brought out at two month intervals. However if you live in america you get one whole box set, straight away, and before we even get our measly volume one with only 3 episodes on it. Arrgh. Appologies for the rant, but it's a good introduction as to why I have had to review one volume at a time. I do hope you enjoy reading about it.

I had to buy this as soon as I knew it was released. I love Mr Bean, and each episode isn't too long, so inbetween lectures or doing my disertation I can watch just one or two episodes before brewing a strong cuppa and continuing my work.
The DVD contains 3 episodes, each with three short sketches. The first, episode 1 has the sketches; The exam - in this one Mr Bean does not know a single answer to the paper, he tries everything to try and write something. He scribbles out, draws pictures and even tries to cheat by copying others. In the end he just bides his time by playing with his novelty stationery. 2. On the beach - Mr Bean tries to get changed to go and enjoy the beach. But hetries to do so completely without taking his trousers off. 3. The Church - In this episode many can sympathise, Mr Bean desperaley tries to stay awake through the service, and finds funny ways of doing so.
Episode 2 in the dvd sees the sketches; 1. The Department Store - Mr Bean goes shopping, oh no i hear you say, and oh no indeed! He, being Mr Bean must try everything on first. And we're not just talking clothes, this includes potato peelers to frying pans. 3. The Restaraunt - In this one It's Mr Bean's Birthday and decides to treat himself to a meal but it doesn't quite go to plan. 4. Royal Film - Very funny episode! Mr Bean Meets the Queen - and it goes all wrong, hilarious and is one of my favourites.
Episode 3 includes the following sketches; 1. Hair of Mr Bean (note: this is an exclusive sketch and was never viewed on television - a real treat for us Bean fans), In this episode Mr Bean goes to the hair dresser, he causes must trouble and confusion for both him and the poor hairdresser by not keeping to the rule - look but don't touch. 2. Village Feat - Mr Bean attends a village gala and sees Teddy winning a dog competition! 3. Train Station - Don't ask how, but Mr Bean ends up in moscow, in a mail bag. I'll let you see the episode for more...
Limited extra features on this dvd and include; The Library- Mr Bean causes havoc at his local Library. and also a tralier and pilot episode for the animated Mr Bean Series.
Overall a 5 star rating. Yes I'm a bit miffed I couldn't buy the whole shibang in one go, but I still really like it. Recommened to any Mr Bean fan, I'm sure would make the bestest xmas gift idea. The DVD picture quality is just as good as the original if not slightly sharper, which is great for those of us whose eyes have deterioated. Also good allround family entertainment, sure to go down a treat, especially when the dredful christmas telly comes on & all you have to choose from is reruns of the victor of dibbly or the aweful Catherine Tate woman. Am I bothered... well, yes actually, and i'll be watching my Mr Bean when you disgrace our screens.
Anyway thankyou once again for reading. Seasons greetings & best wishes, mintz x x x

Three features. In 'The Return Of Mr Bean', Mr Bean is, somewhat ill-advisedly, given his first charge card. He is determined to use it in the department store, but loses it in someone else's back pocket! Also features 'Mr Bean' and 'Hair By Mr. Bean Of London'.
