Episode 1: i) Mr Bean wants to go to the post office, his car battery is dead so he has to catch the bus instead. This leads to extraordinary capers when he meets a man who is already waiting at the bus stop and who suddely has a heart attack. Mr Bean does his best first aid to try and recover him and succeeds, only to give the poor guy another heart attack. A good episode, but a bit politically incorrect as we see him later disable the ambulane to jump start his car. Leaving the ambulance unmobile and unable to save the man Mr Bean gave a heart attack to.
ii) Mr bean heads to a post box to post a letter but accidentally swallows his stamp, so he decides to offer to post a letter for a lady and waits 'til she leaves and then steals the stamp. More cheeky tinkerings by the often childish Mr Bean. We're not too surprised why he is still single, he appears to be just too self centered, as this episode demonstrates.
iii) Mr Bean is packing for a holiday and discovers lucicrus methods of ridiculously reducing the size of his things to fit them in a small briefcase. A funny episode, a pleasure to view hilarious every second and is definately one of my favourites.
iv) Mr Bean's travel starts on a train, where he tries to read a book but is prevented by another man in the compartment, who starts laughing his head off at a book he is reading. Bean plugs his ears with dried-up chewing gum stuck to the bottom of the seat, and does not hear the conductor come to see his ticket. When the conductor manages to get Bean's attention, Bean, startled, accidentally tosses his book out the window, along with the ticket between one of the pages.
v) Mr Bean boards the aircraft, but is sat next to a sick boy. He tries to cheer him up by blowing up a paper bag and popping it. However disaster strikes when he tries to repeat this, unknowingly with a full sick paper bag.... A good sketch, not one of my fav's as is a bit gross.
Episode 2: i) Christmas shopping time and Mr Bean decides to visit Harrods, where he causes lots of trouble, for example parking in front of the store - that is right outside of it, harrasing father christmas, and damage testing all the christmas decorations with his usual shopping motto ''if it breaks, don't buy it''. Funny episode, one which is good for christmas viewing and is loved by kids. shop for Christmas decorations subjecting them to his usual scrutiny - if it breaks, don't buy it.
ii) Mr Bean meets his girlfriend in the town, where she tries to give him the message that she wants an engagement ring as a present. Later he wins a free turkey (by cheating) and then catches a pickpocket and gives the thief's items to a Salvation Army brass band conductor. More mishaps but ends on a good note.
iii) In this sketch we see Mr Bean preparing for Christmas Eve. However he bores himself with war films, and shuts the door on young carol singers without giving them anything. Later he tries to prepare the turkey, but loses his watch while stuffing it, and pokes his head inside, getting it stuck on his head just as his girlfriend arrives, and helps him get it off. This episode is quite sad as he, as usualy, manages to mess up xmas dinner and she leaves crying.
Episode 3: Mr Bean stays in a posh hotel as causes complete havoc, to which the hotel workers are intially patient about. But eventually loose thier temper after he manages to abuse not only every thing but also everyone, including harrasing other guests. An okay episode, not one of my favourites as he acts a bit too childish and runs around naked for a bit. Which you have to admit, noone wants to see.
Overall a 5 star rating. Good one to add to the collection and a perfect gift idea for any Mr Bean fan. Although expensive to buy each volume separately, there is no box set avaliable in region 2 format. However if you have a region free DVD you can get the box set cheap from amazon.com from america as they have it in region 1. Thanks for reading, & best wishes, mintz x
Advantages: kids like it Disadvantages: is nothing compared to the original
senses and seeks help.
Overall I'm awarding a 3 star rating, dispite it appearing they've actually put some effort into the DVD e.g. by addiing bonus trailers, interviews and clips it still doesn't detract from the point that it's not a good series and is really aimed at little children. I'm still surprised Rowan let this go ahead, although MrBean wasn't his creation, it is his image and the new t.v. series ruins what was a classic masterpiece 'MrBean'.
Thanks for reading & best wishes, mintz x x x ...
Mrbean yet again at his prime, yet another great comedy all for the family but i still feel the real Mrbean is better, but this is a good laugh i think you should defenitly have a look. i do feel not evenyone will like this that like the normal bean comedy but to a younger crowd it might be appealing!
About the programme - he and teddy are up to there usual stupid selves getting in to mischief, oblivious to it all "they do make me laugh"
Overall i think its funny as hell and to be honest if its a rainy day then you have not got nothing to loose buy at least having a go at watching this and you never know you might even have a laugh.
I hope this review has been helpful please rate thanks!! ...
