...This film initially received some bad reviews... But I didn't don't listen to critics then, and hey I don't now...
Yes, Dr Seuss might well have been turning rather quickly in his grave when it was first released and it might well be unlike his wonderful book, but it is a film that hopes to entertain young children and that is exactly what it did for mine. My four and half year old daughter was sat riveted to it when we watched it for the first time in 2004, perched on the edge of her chair. She did not stop talking about it for weeks after we saw it, and now both my kids have it on DVD and it makes a frequent trip to the DVD player...
There are bits of adult humour here too, just so that us grown ups can find funny things as well.

...Professor Robert Miles lives in a picture-perfect English village, where he spends his time communing with the dead. He can also control his cat telepathically and uses this ability to wreak revenge on anyone who happens to annoy him. When people begin to die in mysterious ways, a Scotland Yard policeman arrives in the village, using the services of a passing American photographer to take photographs of the crime scenes. The American photographer notices scratch marks on both the Professor and the victims. Will she put two and two together and work out that the cat is responsible? And will anyone believe her if she tells them?

...The film basically is about Cats versus Dogs. A puppy called Lou is taken in by the Brody family, he then finds out that a neighbouring dog is a secret agent and Lou somehow gets involved in saving the canine world from the enemy, cats. The father of the family is close to finding a cure to stop people being allergic to dogs. The cats, led by Mr Tinkles, do everything they can to stop this cure from being found and given to people. Instead they try to reverse the cure to make all humans allergic to the canine race. I will leave the ending for you to watch.
Firstly, when putting this DVD on there are a generous amount of special features. Such as Audio commentary, HBO first look, and other features that help you understand how the film was made. I found this very interesting as I find that the special features in this film are...
