I really enjoyed this film. Nicole Kidman dazzles as the beautiful courtesan, destined to fall in love with the poor writer, against all odds and expectations. Who knew Ewan Macgregor had such a good voice? The music will make you want to hum along to familiar songs, everyone will remember. A touching love story that i believe will appeal to all. Slightly bizarre, and a little bohemian but ultimately "Come what may" is the song that holds the story together. Younger viewers will enjoy the music video with little kim and pink. My teenage daughter loved it, and developed a crush on Ewan Macgregor while my hardened husband drooled over Nicole Kidman, and broke into a smile at Jim Broadbent's over the top performance. I believe this is a film that will appeal to the whole family, and will probably have you scouring shops for the unforgettable soundtrack. In my opinion definitely one for all the family.

Advantages: fantastic cast, great cinematography, fantastic music Disadvantages: It's a wee bit girly, and you know the ending about a minute into the film
Advantages: An adventure to the Moulin Rouge in Paris. We are whisked away to a world of truth, freedom and love. Disadvantages: Casting Nicole Kidman was a bad idea.
